Error 14

Hi! I am new to Subspace, and as such, I downloaded the Web-Installer to get started. The installer works fine until it attempts to dowload files. As soon as that happens, I get the dreaded Error 14. I have tried several times, and the result is always the same. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

Which OS do you have?

 

do you have a firewall at all?

Thank you for replying. I have Windows XP. I do NOT have a firewall.

Ok try this:

 

Open the control pannel - > network connections - > right click o your internet connection, properties the go to advanced.

 

Make sure the internet connection firewall is off by having the checkbox unticked.

download Continuum .38

 

install

 

download prerelease 1

 

unzip directly into your new Continuum directory

you should end up with TWO .exe's in the same directory

 

always use Continuum039pr1.exe to run the game unless specifically told (by an error message) to use an "older version" - then go ahead and use Continuum.exe for that specific zone

The older version is disabled when 39 is installed. If you try to run it, you will get an error in menures.dll

Like SuSE said if you want to run 38 click the 38.exe if not click the 39.exe

well there is a way, but genrally speaking you get an error.

 

If you run it from a sperate profile it loades a fresh instance of continuum uner the second user in the ram so that way you can run as many .38 and .39 as you like as long as you have the profiles.

 

Anyway back to the topic...
