Gravitron Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 Since it's hard to find good teams to flag with around the clock, I've decided to upgrade the rest of you upto par, since it's really not that hard to be a good flagger in this zone. All it takes is just an ounce of cerebral ability and a couple of bricks, maybe some added accessories. This is for both defencing and offensing, since there's little to no difference between the two. Inorder for you to know what to do, you need to know what NOT to do.Do not wait.I don't know why, but most people seem to wait, maybe someone told them the messiah is coming , there's nothing to wait.Never Wait! And I just cannot stress this enough. You attach, you look around, you drop a brick, as simple as that.Do not wait for the older brick to die off.Do not wait to get to what seems to be the furthered spot in the base, where it COULD be maximum effective to brick. If you keep dreaming of some distant promised land, chances are you'll never reach it.There is no s-*BAD WORD*-.There is no sheep. There is no charm point. You see, this is what happens if you wait:You get killed, you get pushed back by bricks and reps, you let nme byp!@#$%^&* you and frag/brickwarp your cap and teammates and etc.If you wait for the old brick you/teammates placed to wear off, when ti does, nme are going to do this:Rep, rocket, brick.By the time you (and you will try hard yes, but it'll be a futile effort) get back to the position you wished to rebrick, nme already will be there, brick it and then proceed foreward and brick some more, effectively pushing you back. And this is exactly what you should do.You should attach, thor at the enemy, repel (or save reps for a tad later, at least 1) to knock it out of balance, and lounge foreward to brick. There's already a brick there? Good, then reinforce it (IE place another near it). Then burst a couple, if nme brick clears out, rocket and try to brick at a further position.Out of equipment? Just rush foreward, your guns can still be an effective tool.Fill the entire base with bricks if you must, remember, if you charge, you die, then you can respawn, reattach, rebrick again, so just brick and move onto the front line.Never let a situation occur where there's only just one brick holding the nme off.Always leave a series of bricks behind you, so if they do manage to push you off backwards, there'll be another brick there to stop them and delay them a few.If you attach and see your cap exposed, brick it (back and/or forth) to protect it from coming into harm's way.The harder you push (using bricks), the faster you advance. * An important thing to remember while defending, if by any chance the nme byp!@#$%^&*es you, change ships and reattach to the cap.Do not try to pursue the enemy from behind, by the time you'll catch up with it, it'll be too late for your poor cap.And then, it means you lost. * Also: Caps should always have aw on. NinjaMantis Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 The sad thing is, most people who would think to listen to your advice will either fail to pull it off, or already know how to base properly... that's the problem with help these days... everyone takes advice for granted. Quote
NinjaMantis Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 A WHOLE lot of people don't, scar. Few people do it. The frustration of several vets at newbs who don't brick is proof of this fact. Quote
