Their gun speed (think current with minor tweaking) might make that a moot point however. However tehre are a few points i woul like to make on the spider... 1.As it is an ambush ship...it really would make sence to make it regain energy with stealth and cloak on 2.As it is said "weak when exposed" it would make sence to limit it's exposure by giving it energy regaining when stealth and cloak are on. (ok it is the same point with 2 different reasons...)

After we all try it out together there'll be a Release Candidate A, then B etc, and then if everyone's happy it goes public. Now, as for the Lanc gotta bring up several points: 1) Bombs do more damage now.2) It can green up to L2 bombs (which will be rather high on prizeweight)3) If it does get to L2, it's statistically far better then the old lanc at holding ground. So don't fret Spider i'll let recharge somewhat with both on. Any other questions or comments feel free to bring em up to me in zone. If you feel there's some grave misjustice to your ship, well, you can always converse with vile.

In a duel, not a single ship beat me, with that lanc. I beat every jav without using bullets. That lanc is incredibly powerful, and you give it bounce, you're a god. Seriously DKR, you may be a self proclaimed lanc god, but -*BAD WORD*- I've been playing this zone for almost 5 years, and that lanc is on the verge of too powerful. [/rant]

Playing in it feels dirty and I'm against having to green for things. One of the reasons I don't go to SVS is because greening to make your ship is just boring. Maybe upon hitting a certain bounty level you gain the veteran ability or something instead? And I still stick to my above statement in my last reply.

Rawr O.o' From last time I tried the Lancatser, it seems that mine and NBvegitas experiances upon the lanc are completly different. Why? Because it seems I was some how flying a different version of the lanc ~blinks~ Yeah confused me too, but flying around yesterday in it with Vile, and there was some noticble differences in it, including level 2 bombs starting but also mine damage, bomb and bullet damage with a changed fire rate :/ Even now it needs tweaking, it ain't perfect but its... ok... Rixsta Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 Yeah im not fully convinced about the idea of greening, but i guess it depends on how rare the abilities will be, the idea of hitting a certain amount of bounty and then getting them isn't so bad, would encourage killing and getting on with the game... And plus you'd know when your team mate has got their ability, when it comes to things like defending a base '//anti on please!'' ... But then some newbi's probably wont get a chance to get it, thats if the bounties too high, unless they just green it. I think the current Ter and Weasel are good ships, they just require more work in getting good at them, i was playing Ter last night and i was getting more kills than ever... Just isnt as newbie friendly as other ships.

Rixsta Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 Yeah the Lanc seems abit too powerful, as much as i like the Lanc it doesn't seem to have no weakness', with the current Lanc its week when a ship can get close to it because every other ship beats it bullets to bullets, with the new set lanc the reps eliminate this weakness and the 2 mines slow ships down in getting close enough to use its weakness against it... Furthermore its energy saving green will help this even more. Fundementally its a buff up of the current Ter, with obvious and MANY advantages. Also the idea of 3 ships having the chance to get anti could be a downfall of the Spider and Levi who really require this ability, especially since the spider only has one burst now. Anyway thats just how i view things on paper, im sure things will be easier once they get tested. Rix

Once it's tested and integrated i'm debating whether the terrier needs modification at all, and thus we'd be ready for public beta testing of these sets. Thus, gimme come comments based on balancing and integration of weasel/terrier into what we have in here. Next on my slate is weakening the lanc a tad so it's not allpowerful.

As for the Lancaster maybe slowing its speed? just a little bit, not a huge speed change, but just to anchor down that its essentially a basing and defence ship, rather than a ball winner, its 2 rep's, 4 bounce bombs, x radar and mines would make it a too perfect balling ship.

By the way i have created a shipset with soldiers equipped with their corresponding weapons. Fun Fun Fun. Back to the weasel, it needs a fast, single stream. One that would drain it, but beat the crap out of whatever it hit. This would add an aspect that would make pros better at using it.
