Ace Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Now that keyboard remapping is prevalent, it has become common practice to remap x-radar to an easier key to use and instead of toggling as needed, players are holding it down anytime they aren't firing or recharging. By holding it down (permatoggle) they are getting all the benefits of x-radar at a SIGNIFICANTLY reduced cost. Run the tests yourselves. This design flaw seriously upsets the balance of ships in high-skill zones. I would suggest the creation of a toggle lock wherein if a toy (x-radar, cloak, etc.) is toggled more than X times in X seconds it is disabled for 10 seconds. Or something along those lines.
Yupa Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 so when they're not firing or recharging they can see cloakers at a reduced cost? are you talking SVS? doesn't it just cost 1 nrg to leave it on?isn't it interrupted (toggling) as soon as you hit a new key? (to move or fire)
★ Dav Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 some things are noit interupted, you can fore and type at the same time. In the old DS when i played there is fire bombs by using a weight to hold my tab key whilst chatting. SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin
