Ive been wanting to click on this Thread for a while but i never did, but dude..... This thing will be *Bleeping* Awesome, i have to place alot of lvz for my friends zone, i guarentee that this will be used on every lvz makers cpu, Big ups ZnZ

i was gonna go without the zoom, but seeing as how this other program is out.....and it zooms. i need zoom. smile.gif so the next time i post a screen. it will be a zoomed one. (gulp)

 

im also get alot of chances to see what makes it crashed, whilst i work on this MG stuff with it. and see what sucks.

Zoom is a hard to program since the lvz images have to be shrinked and so forth, at least it has a zoom. It just pisses me off to see other's bashing on the flaws when they themselfs can't see the complexity of it. Nor can they even program or give a hint of thanks for the work done by the person. All they do is bicth on it and hope others do better dismissing the hard work done as if walking by a store shelf, "Eh, i'll wait till they make a better one" not relizing this is being done by the good will of others, free of charge. I feel the same way about most things that are freeware such as E-mule.

take it easy smile.gif im sure he just wanted i should know about what ppl think of that when i try to make mine.

 

in theory this shouldnt be too bad in directX, as it has built in functions for stretching images. which as long as your video card isnt yanked out of some 486, it should have hardware stretching. which means performace shouldnt be so much of an issue. ill i really need to do is make variable, all that is static, mainly the tilesize....then, i just do all my division off the new number. adjust the drawing buffer sizes accordigly and walla, it should zoom at almost a smooth rate(optomism) if you wanted it too.

 

it would be something like changing

 

backbuffer.blt to backbuffer.bltstretch

 

a little more work would be required for the lvz, but not too much. gets a bit more complicated with all the vaiable image sizes to begin with, and having to clip images and so forth. layers etc..... no longer based on 16, but variable according to zoom level....blaa blaaa...yakkity.....and so on and so forth.

i only started reading this topic once it had alredy gotten to like page3, so this may sound like a stupid question...

 

does it read .lvl files? like do u open a .lvl then place the lvz images ON TOP of them?

 

Either way ive been waiting for something like this foreve!!! want it now :wub:

The subspace community really needs this. A week ago I was positioning some lvz too and I thought about your program... wow that could have saved alot of time :blush:

 

Anyway, when you dont continue on the program... publish the source or send it to me so at least one person continues with it ;)

a lot of u said u needed this for a zone u r making. im interested in starting some new zone ( and all the lvz stuff is really appealing to me ), so anyone wanna tell me wat their workin on? maybe ill help smile.gif

Hope you can get a beta out sometime soon.

 

Btw, will it be a complimet or replacement for SSME?

As much as i like SSME, it has problems saving sometimes and I don't want to have to use 2 programs to map, if this is a Tileset editor-Map editor-LVZ placer all in one, it would be the #2 download on ssdownloads.com within a day (second only to the ctm client itself).

i would still ike to see znz's whenever i do !@#$%^&* and place a lot of lvz the save doesnt work :o

 

 

Btw ZiGNoTZaG i like the ships/graphics on ur site, i downloaded the pack with the full WD ships and graphics i use them ^_^

no.. but people don't want to get a 7-zip extractor when they know they'll ONLY use it for one download... especially 56k users... every MB to download is a pain in the butt blum.gif
