Yupa Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 lvz is just what tells the game when and where and howthe "dirt" is just an image, nothing more as for finding such an image... http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&...irt&btnG=Searchhttp://images.google.com/images?q=texture+...G=Google+Search
AoS Posted April 23, 2004 Author Report Posted April 23, 2004 Aight now how would i go about putting that image into my map?
Yupa Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 download TiledMajickextract the .zip, run the .exe input the width and height of your image (in pixels) [just leave the 'image' box as '0'] and hit the 'DO IT' button open up the newly-created 'output.txt' (in same directory as TiledMajick.exe) using notepad or somesuch text editor BEFORE everything, ADD the following: outfile=nameOfYourChoice.lvz file=nameOfYourImage.png [objectimages]image0=nameOfYourImage.png [mapobjects] save your modified 'output.txt' as 'nameOfYourChoice.ini' (note, .png is not the only image format you can use, you can use any of these formats: .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .png) now download lvztoolkit.zipextract the .zip and run 'BuildLevel.exe'when the browse-for-file box pops up, find and select your new .ini file - if all goes well, a .lvz file with the name specified in 'outfile=' will be created in the same directory as your .ini file now... you've got to get the .lvz into your arena (you must have sysop powers to do the following - if you are not a sysop, you will need a sysop to do this for you) make sure your .lvz file is in your main Continuum directory (eg. C:\Program Files\Continuum), then go into your zone and type *putfile nameOfYourChoice.lvz now type *getfile arenaName.cfg(or server.cfg for public arenas) - it will download to your Continuum directory (eg. C:\Program Files\Continuum)open it with a text editor, find the setting 'misc:levelfiles=' and set it so it is 'misc:levelfiles=nameOfYourChoice.lvz'save your changes and type *putfile arenaName.cfg back in your zone now re-enter the arena whose .cfg file you've been fiddling with and you should download and see your dirt image all over the map instead of black space and stars
AoS Posted April 23, 2004 Author Report Posted April 23, 2004 Hmmm ok i will try that i will Reply if it works or not...((keep in mind im not a computer genius so it may take a while for me to understand this)) Ty i will try it

AoS Posted April 23, 2004 Author Report Posted April 23, 2004 uh oh... When i ran buildlevel.exe and i clicked on my ini it said unable to open dirt.jpg
AoS Posted April 23, 2004 Author Report Posted April 23, 2004 Aight wtf ive tried it over and over multiple times and it still says unable to open dirt.bmp or dirt.jpg i tried both....Wuts wrong?... I download the tile Majik i went into photoshop pro and clicked on Resize image so it said how big the image was it was 1280x1280 so i put that into the height and width and i pressed do it. I did once with presseing expand more than map and one without that, Then i opened the new output.txt i put in outfile=lbdirt.lvz file=dirt.bmp [objectimages]image0=dirt.bmp [mapobjects] On the top of the page then i save it as dirt.ini .... Then i run buildlevel.exe and i click on dirt.ini, Then the next thing it says is Unable to open file dirt.bmp .... That means it cant open the image right? well i dont know how to do it... Plz i need more help
Yupa Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 ha, sorry make sure dirt.jpg is in the same directory as the .ini fileand make sure you use dirt.jpg in the .ini file (eg. image0=dirt.jpg)
