Unlimited Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 Ok continuum doesn't work on my laptop now. I've always played ss on it.. All of a sudden now when I open continuum.exe, it just loads forever.. I went on task manager to processes, and continuum.exe is bouncing every where, very strange. I've re-installed ss, rebooted my computer a dozen times. I even went on diagnostic mode and scanned my whole pc for everything, I've cleaned/deleted everything, my computer's as clean as a button.. Just don't know why ss doesn't work. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e355/unoshawn/unlim.png
★ Dav Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 strange problem, try windows update to make sure its all ok. Also try disabling any firewall or antivirus and load it to see if that is the problem. Are you getting the problem when first loading continuum or entering a zone? ★ Dav Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 ^ genrally what happens. we will try a few solutions, if nothbing works do a system restore (if your OS supportes it) to before the problem occured. On second thought if you havent installed anything important do that now. SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin
Unlimited Posted April 12, 2004 Author Report Posted April 12, 2004 Akai - I haven't done anything.. One minute I was playing, a few minutes later I exit, open ss and didn't work. Dav - Just logged off and on so continuum wouldn't be in processes anymore. Now I just turned off all security including firewall, still doesn't work. Hey, maybe it's not me.. Maybe subspacehq.com updated their ss downloads, and the copies they have dun work? Cause I always downloaded ss there, and I never had a problem like this. I'll download ss from sscentral/ssdownloads and see if it'll work. Dang.. This really sucks. Now every time I wanna play ss I have to go downstairs to my desktop http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e355/unoshawn/unlim.png
★ Dav Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 What OS do you have? SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin

★ Dav Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 np, system restore will often fix lil problems like that. You muct have done somthing, prehaps picked up some proggy off the internet without knowing about it but something upset continuum. Glad its working now SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin
plant. Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 ok go to start > prograps > accessories > syetem tools > system restore. select a time at leaset a couple of days before the problems happend and hit ok, wit for reboot and try again to load continuum.oh a tip, i fixed my pc with the same. But if you have a network. Bring all computers back to the same recovery point! haha candygirl, i love it. But it looks a bit like a flower lol.
★ Dav Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 you dont really have to so that, as long as the network settings havent been changes recenly thay are most likly not the problem and the settings will be unaffected. SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin
battleboy Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 OMG! The same thing is happening to me right now. I had a few trojans on my computer and I followed some steps that I found on a site and successfully removed them off. I restarted my computer and started SS and my CPU usage jumped to 100% and like Unlimted said it jumps everywhere in the task manger box. I don't want to go back to system restore because the trojans will be back on my computer again. Another thing to note is that, this only happens when I try and run SS, all other programs run fine. Anyone have any ideas? I really need this to be fixed.
★ Dav Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 reinstall ss. if you do a system restore go back to a time before the trojans were there, it may meen you have to reinstall some proggies but it should work. SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin
Tascar Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 If you are still having trojan problems, try Symantec's Worm Removal Site. Search Google for it.
