crosshairs in a 2d game? i dun really get it but if it's kinda like this:

ship----------------------- crosshair ignore the ------- line above here

 

then you should ask AnacondA, he has gfx of ships with arrows like this

Will there be a feature that calculates the lead required for a shot and displays it in a nice and easy manner?

That would make it too easy.

 

I can see it now...

"Computer, show me where I should shoot that noob in the spyder and when I should shoot"

 

If anyone here has played vendetta, they would know how much it sucks to have the computer do all the work, rather than hunt on your own. Although that's where heatseeker missiles come in handy. But don't expect that either. You've heared noobletts whine about cheating before, wait til they get nailed with heatseekers smile.gif

I dunno if adding a calculated crosshair makes it that easy. If somebody is moving properly, a shot claculated by their velocity should miss 9/10. It would be those who constantly move in a straight line that would get hurt by this.

The real reason I want this though is that you can include a player's ping into the calculations. That way, all my shots won't be 200 ms off because of my phone line.

i think crosshairs will be needed to aim and dogfight properly, and a lag accounting one should fix alot of lag problems.
