plant. Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 ok, we just got 3 new computers here in this house. And someguy made such a LAN network, usually we connected through a modem. But now we have an ADSL ROUTER (maybe it's different in other countries, I live in holalnd) I downloaded Continuum 0.38, and opened it. Then, i got some message box with your zone list will now be refreshed. Then it started downloading, then i got another message box saying something like this: Your zone list could not be refreshed, make sure you have an connection with the internet. WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THINGS WORK please tell me, cuz i'm a big fat addict! I dunno if I have a firewal, if you think it should be something with a firewall, PLEASE tell me first how i can check if a firewal is installed. haha candygirl, i love it. But it looks a bit like a flower lol.
ntfx Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 ADSL Router as in, one from acatel or one from sweex, first read the manual. If still cant figure it out, pm me http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/5344/ntfxboredqv8.png

Guest Kn|ght Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 I suck at routers, never liked them myself, so I cannot tell you how to fix it, but I can tell you whats wrong. I will bet you 10 to 1 odds the router's built-in (I am guess built in) firewall is blocking continuums port. Best discription of fixing this is to make open the port and allow continuum to access your computer. Sorry I can't give a more detailed discription, as I said, I hate routers.
★ Dav Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 get the router instruction manual, look at how to get to its settings and how to disable its firewall. SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin

★ ZiGNoTZaG Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 you need to figure out what ip the router is !@#$%^&*igning your pc. then you need to forward the zones port and the zonesport +1 UDP example: some zone ip: ***.**.***.*** port:2000 router !@#$%^&*igned 64.***.***.1 to your pc which you figured out by either entering the routers setup pages or checkin out your connections in winxp. so then on the routers forwarding page. ya see something like such ip: 64.***.***.1 port:2000 protcol:UDPip: 64.***.***.1 port:2001 protcol:UDP then it should work for that zone. you would need to do that for each zone you want to play in. dont disable any firewalls. you shouldnt have to. http://www.zignotzag.net/images/subspace/vector/VectorWhat.png Vector What? ★ Dav Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 access the router and retore defult settings to it, then try to enter a zone. If that doesnt work disable its firewall again, you are doing something wrong if that kills the internet connection. SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin

★ ZiGNoTZaG Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 glad you got it going. i went to go look at the sweex site. but as i kinda figured it was all in erm....dutch? something like that. im no linguist. anyway i couldnt make heads or tails out of the manual. or really did i even know what presise model you had. but a router is a router is a router it boggled me a bit that it wasnt werkin. http://www.zignotzag.net/images/subspace/vector/VectorWhat.png Vector What? ★ Dav Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 two routers, lol i can see why it confused things. Most people get a a wirless access poin t if they already have a router. SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin
MikeTheNose Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 ADSL usually connects the same way as cable. The RJ12 cable connects to a modem or similer device that transfers the data to a NIC card with an RJ45 jack; which both the wireless and cable routers should have. If that's too technical then just read this: Why do you have more than 1 router? - MikeTheNose- Subspace Central Network BanG Administrator-------------------------------------"I have never wavered in my commitments to this zone and I am certainly not doing so now." You just did.
