Dav Posted March 27, 2004 Author Report Posted March 27, 2004 boycot the system, biuld computers with non TCPA compliant componants and use linux.
Sgt. Bountage Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 omfg... I never knew anything like this ever existed... I'm supporting them, if any of you diagree, think of this. No more SS, well, thats what I think they mean in the "What is TCPA" section... its your personal space and they shouldn't make it a law to have this chip... thats just pathetic... you'll have to pay for SS not be be blocked on ur system... that sucks... plus it'll prob be a bonus to get this chip, then more to install it (if this becomes legal). I urge everyone to add one of the banners from the site to your sig to stop TCPA. Also you can see the urge is very urgent since,1) they made a site about it (very detailed)2) everyone has a banner in their sig3) i wrote a letter that is this long, which I don't normally do unless it is really important. The link for one of the banners is: http://www.againsttcpa.com/tcpa-banner.html and the link for the site is http://www.againsttcpa.com/index.shtml, lets stop this evil, we have the power, lets destroy it!
Sgt. Bountage Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 hmm... yeah. Also I was wondering, on the site they kinda have a members list or something... how do you join that? I'd like to help in any means possible... even if I have to take seige against parliament
Tipme Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 i tried to spread it to other forums but i got banned from themexcept 2
Sgt. Bountage Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Flowret... dosnt you sig say that you with TCPA?A) your gay you running against yourself buddy!
madhaha Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 TCPA ROFL. Silly silly people. Implementation has already begun, you just haven't noticed yet. I think Mr. Ekted mentioned it before. And it will be subverted every step of the way because it attempts to turn a computer into a glorified CD player :)This might be suitable for buisnesses and the military but it is not what we want. A major player in the computer industry is the games industry (its whats pushing the technology at any rate). Imagine a gaming scene without mods, scripts, skinning, mapping etc. and no new talent emerging because people can't learn to program, except formally. Imagine computing without free programming being availible. Its like trying to invent a pen you can't draw with, only write. If they ever succeed, people won't want to use it any more. Almost any sort of scripting can be used maliciously (examples include the microsoft office macro language, javascript, activex even batch files) but to remove it would remove the very essence of what computers were created for: automating tasks. Its the ultimate banning system and ultimately the cheater always wins.
Dav Posted April 1, 2004 Author Report Posted April 1, 2004 we know its under implimentation but that doent mean we cant disagree. It will stop free games like subspace ever existing and increace game prices. New freeware will be no more. I dont agree with it, piracy is a problem but this solution is simply over the top.
