Guest GammaRay0 Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 WE NEED MORE PEOPLE IN HYPERSPACE!!!!!!!!!AND ALSO I HATE LAG COMMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIMEU MAY LEAVE OR REPLY
FunkmastaD Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I think i will Fast reply actually Yeah HS needs to have people come back to play and have new users come and playSo if anyone knows former HS people or sees them in other arenas remind them that it's back up and running (kinda)Doubling the newbie start money would allow them to get a better start now so they don't feel discouraged and leave The more the light shines through meI pretend to close my eyes. The more the dark consumes meI pretend I'm burning bright.
★ Dav Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 i almost always use fast reply i am not in hs often anymore, my staff job in FH takes most of my SS time as i am working on a new event and everyone kinda expencts me to be there (thats the staff and players) SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin
Guest Guest Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 <----------Wargh i always use fast reply... even when im not logged in erm, yeah, there isn't much we can do about the pop. problem atm, but soon once the lag coma problem is fixed population will grow... newbies get alot of sympahty cash at the start, esp from me if i can afford it (25k+, given, not granted) its lag COMA... not comma, thats the lil thing cause full stops and spaces wanted to comprimise
★ Dav Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 lol its a full stop, -*BAD WORD*- american english changing things SSCC Desert Storm OwnerSSforum Admin
Coenny Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 no a full stop is what you must make at a stop sign unless you want a ticket. <- that is a period.. FOOLS Taking out n00bies, one ?kick at a time.
Dr Brain Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Coenny is right. It's called a period. Freedom is the right to be wrong.

Guest Guest Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 and honour its a tissue, not a Kleenexa vacuum cleaner, not a Hoover and periods are something a woman suffers every month
Wargh!!! Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 AH! another mysterious guest :S this time it ISN"T me... and yes, it is a vacuum, and a tissue They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But, given a thousand words, could you paint me a picture? - Mickey Oliver
Bomook Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 other amercan mistakes: colour...that's British and honour its a tissue' date=' not a Kleenexa vacuum cleaner, not a Hoover[/quote']honour is also British; I've never even heard of a vacuum cleaner being called a Hoover yeah, the Kleenex thing is pretty annoying; Corporate takeovers are the cause, and it's part of the American economy rather than language, if anything:P . Some other ones are: Kool-Aid instead of flavored drink, Coke instead of soft drink, Xerox instead of copied paper, NOS instead of nitrous oxide, Band-Aid instead of bandage, Q-tip instead of cotton swab, and Scotch tape instead of adhesive tape.
FunkmastaD Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 Isn't NOS an acronym for Nitrous Oxide System just that the company that produces a lot of nitro accessories just calls themselves NOSNot many people that I've heard called a photo copied paper a xerox the term is: Xerox it instead of PhotocopyIf I say I want a Kleenex, Coke and a Q-tip thats because they have cornered the market and/or have the best product of that typeYes this is lazy in a way and improper but it's easier and it's just how things happen sometimesIt isn't the same if I ask for a tissue paper, dark carbonated soft drink and a cotton swab I don't want no-name garbage lol Also it's improper to refer to misspellings as British spellings since the language mostly came from England and other European countries, there is a reason its called the English language and not the American language. The misspellings are in the American spellings as during some time someone got lazy and decided to spell more of how they heard the sound and not what the word was and eliminated needed silent letters because they got tired of writing extra lol The more the light shines through meI pretend to close my eyes. The more the dark consumes meI pretend I'm burning bright.
Bomook Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 well I never said it was a British misspelling; I only meant that the extra "u" was part of British English. But yeah, you know how we Americans are
Coenny Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 american english and british (correct) english are two different languages. As much as they try and make you belive that they are the same...they simply are not. I mean just watch the BBC on tv. I cant understand 1/2 of what they say. The british have weird slang terms too, dont just blame us americans. Taking out n00bies, one ?kick at a time.

★ Dav Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 haha british slang alot of it sucks to be honest. the thing is american english is mostly english. I can watch an american channel say CNN and understand everything thay say fine. I think american english is a simple form, the spelling e.g color and nite are phoenetic to make spelling easier. Dr Brain Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 I think american english is a simple form, the spelling e.g color and nite are phoenetic to make spelling easier.Nite? I'm pretty sure there is no spelling of night/knight as nite. Freedom is the right to be wrong.
