Gold! Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I dont know if you guys actually take into consideration the ideas posted here but here it goes... I think an in game (not ticker) macro viewer would be a good feature to add. A player could his Esc M and a windowsimilar to this would show up... http://www.archinox.com/forums/macros.jpg It would be fairly easy to implement not to mention a usefulfeature for the players. ^_^
mister manners Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 whered u get that screenshot, photoshop?
Gold! Posted February 27, 2004 Author Report Posted February 27, 2004 whered u get that screenshot, photoshop?I edited a screenshot in photoshop.
Mr Ekted Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Thats an excellent idea.Ya. We could have all kinds of cool stuff if we added Photoshop to the client.

Bargeld Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 When in-game... currently the only place you are able to type anything at all is at the bottom of the screen. No panels have been made which change the position of the cursor (away from the bottom of the screen.) My thoughts are:1) there is probably a reason for this.2) What's the point, you can edit these while alt tabbed.
Paine Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Its there to piss you off and encourage you to spec.
Gold! Posted February 28, 2004 Author Report Posted February 28, 2004 The purpose of the macro view is not to edit macros through the window. Itsonly a helpful reminder of what you macros are set to.

You saying this would be too hard to add? I -laff- ahead of time if you say yes. yea... i mean... its not hard to put photoshop in and some bogus programming language called "manners" start play game join game play change ship in changing ship if ship cool then { say "im cool" } play in new ship win or lose match say "haha, i pwnz0red u noobs" and to fire, you must draw little bullets with your cursor in photoshop whaile you click on a flash animation with little buttons that move your ship. Wouldn't that be very good idea and usefull and easy? The language also recognises spelling mistakes.
Mr Ekted Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 You saying this would be too hard to add? LOL no. I was making a joke out of the 2 unrelated but consecutive posts: - I edited a screenshot in Photoshop.- That's an excellent idea.
»CypherJF Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 I wouldn't care for this because in 1.) you can set macro's when alt+tabbed, 2.) you can store macro's easily through the game, 3.) just goto a priv arena if need be to test em out lol... oh well..

Having a macro viewer would be the better option.
numpf Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 better option: have priitk spend any time he would spend on this idea on something worthwhile. I believe this post can be paraphrased "look ma I can use photoshop" -numpf

Dr Brain Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Nice idea. But seeing as only one person updates continuum, and he is way behind on bugs and other essentials, you will have to live with the perfectly good macro editor you already have in the Alt+Tab window.

Paxil Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 LOL no. I was making a joke out of the 2 unrelated but consecutive posts: - I edited a screenshot in Photoshop.- That's an excellent idea. Guess I should start quoting, lol.
pixelsoft Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 uuh great idea... by the way, could that be that ?loadmacro and ?savemacro don't work in Continuum?i mean, it never worked for me. would be great if that would be possible, too
numpf Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 I certainly do enjoy shooting down attempt at advice/criticism when they are stupid. I could have said what Dr. Brain did, but my way was more fun. I don't believe in tact, especially when situation isn't such that you can smack me if you get put in your place. If something is stupid it should be identified clearly as such, so that not only can the idea be ignored, but the rest of the ideas from that person can be judged in the context of poor credibility. Especially when it's painfully clear they made a lame attempt to showcase their 'talent'. Furthermore, people who aren't confident (and confidence suggests knowledge, which suggests a good idea) in their ideas might read some of my posts and be more tentative about wasting everyone's time for fear of the ripping you're getting. In closing, stfu -numpf

In closing, stfu -numpfI I try not to argue with poeple who seem to have an intense pessimistic view ofeverything. One last comment though...if you think i made that -*BAD WORD*-ty screenshot toshowcase my "talent" you are a total moron. I bet you would give yourself a nobel prize for being able to walk down a set of stairs. That thing is nothing to gloat about. It is a visial aid which serves to help my point. My idea gets more credibility compaired to somone who just posts 2 lines about a cool idea they had. Heh, im done talking to you.
