Try any or all:

 

1) Hit Cntrol-Alt-Del and close any unneccesary apps in the task manager (like ICQ or Aol or MSN, etc.

2) look for a little switch on the back of the case near the power supply that has 2 settings: 115 and 220 (or close to that.) In the U.S. you need it set to 115 or 120v.

3) check for heat problems (by feeling around/inside your PC case.

My friend did that once... but he ripped his hand open on the cogs int he cd drive... he was a -*BAD WORD*-ing spaz :/
