Guest ..e Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 Just installed Continuum again, logged on, knew what to do, then hit go, and it won't let me into EG. Says "Connection To Server Lost". Similar thing happened when I installed BF1942 and tried to log on. Problem with the server there too. Is it a problem with my connection? Or is it deeper than that. I'm running on cable. Quote
»CypherJF Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 for what it's worth.. i can login to EG.. Quote
Bargeld Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 Are you trying to play from a school or work connection, or anywhere behind a firewall? This is most commonly the case when none of your games will play online.IF you are behind a firewall, the only real way around it is to change some of those settings, if you have access to do that (like your home router,) or, if you are at a school or office machine, you will have to ask the network admin make some changes for you (which usually will never happen, because they have it set up like this on purpose to stop gaming, and other apps from using bandwidth. This may not be the case, so don't let this scare you... but we need a little more info in order to help. Open continuum and hit CTRL + TThis will start a trace for the server you have selected, let it run for a few cycles, at least 25 or 50... Then hit Export... then open that file. Post the results here so we can see what's going on. Quote
Guest ..e Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 K, I'm running it from home, through a router. Don't know if that would make a differance. Also, I can play StarCraft onlne, on Battlenet, so I really do not knwo what is up. Bargeld Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 Use windows exploder and browse to Continuum\zones\SSCX Extreme Games and delete all the files in there. Next time you enter the zone, dont read the zone news (if you spend too long reading the news, the server will disconnect you.) And make sure you allow the game to download all the zone's files (there is a percentage/progress indicator to let you know how far it's gone.) Quote
Guest ..e Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 Well, I am not sure what Windows Exploder is. I searched for it on Run and Find and it came up blank. I also went through Program Files into zones and Extreme Games and went to that file. But it was already empty by the time I got there. I also found out I was running Continumm .38. I have the patch for .39 and unzipped the file, but once I had it and tried to acsess it, it says. Failed to Load Dynamic Link Library menures.dll" I am guessing that would have been the porblem perhaps, but I am not sure. Quote

Himura Kenshin Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 take all the files in the .39 folder and put them into your continuum folder th en right click on the .39 exe and create shortcut and move that shortcut to your desktop Quote
Guest Deadarmm Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 I think it is simpler than all that, I just had teh same problem, as I could not remember my old account name, I put a _ in front of my username and tried to log on, and got the message you got. In short, try changing your name to something with only letters in it. Hope it helps. Quote
»D1st0rt Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 Well, I am not sure what Windows Exploder is. I want THAT one! Quote
Fluffy White Bunny Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 It's probably what Deadarmm said...your name must start with a letter or number. Trying to log in with the name "..e" would get you that exact problem. Quote
