Awesome Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Hi, while browsing ssforum.net i noticed this "SubChat" or something. Can someone please give me a few points about what it is or a nice link, and also where can i download it. Also, i only play SSCU Trench Wars and i !@#$%^&*umed that this thing would let you speak on ?chat's, so i was wondering if it would let me speak on ?chat's while i was in class (where my lag is like 4000 ms and far too high to enter and play/chat there). Thanks,Awesome
pixelsoft Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 the website used to be kirk.sscentral.com, but it's down since sscentral removed all their hosted sites... SubChat is a chat-client for subspace, that means, you open subchat.exe and chose your name, pw, server-ip, port, ?chat channels, etc.then you connect and you can chat there, but you can't spectate other players or play. I guess you can download it on http://www.ssdownloads.com
Awesome Posted February 12, 2004 Author Report Posted February 12, 2004 Alright cool, sounds good. I'd like to try it out sometime. Does anyone have a direct link? ps: i assume its safe for entering your password, am i right?
»CypherJF Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 a direct link hm.. http://www.subspacenetwork.com/downloads/o...Chat(v.91a).zip You will need to enter your p!@#$%^&* that matches your username; (and I am going to assume it won't connect to ASSS Zones?) anyways if you connect to an SSC zone, and it says ^Banned; you're really not banned but yeah long story lol..
Jason Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Please note, you cannot use SubChat to login to Continuum-only zones as it is recognized as an SS client by SubGame. This means you won't be able to login directly to TW with it. However, you can login into another SSC zone, such as HZ for example, and still yack on all your chats.
viper16grl Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 ok, for subchat you have to be a staffer or on the vip.txt for it to work. kirk isn't exactly working on the chat anymore considering the amount of time he has...maybe one day there will be a new version of it.
»CypherJF Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 lol *mumbles* time? tiiimmeeee? me have no time :X lol... i totally understand the whole no time issue *goes running off into the forest like a madman whose lost his brain*
Jason Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 I hear you cypher. ssdude1> need website, help plz?ssdude2> can you make me a site?ssdude3> want to rework my site, want to help out?ssdude4> got a little dev project going, you in?client1> i like the design but i want this this this this and this feature can you have that done by next friday?my mom> You're living here free of charge. Get off your -*BAD WORD*-, away from that -*BAD WORD*- computer and do something around the -*BAD WORD*- house for me! It wouldn't kill you to vacuum once a week or something! [EDIT]No offense to those who have discussed websites with me. I have offered my services to a few, and I'm not referring to those few in the above little ditty. I do get at least four or five newbies a week, people whom I've never heard of, asking me to make them a personal site though. Talk about mother-*BAD WORD*-ing annoying. Some of the dev projects I don't mind working on, but I usually end up working on them with people who don't know what they are doing and just get in the way or ask stupid questions. And then there's this one client I'm working with (Yeah, a paying customer! Woo! =p) who basically wants me to write a ridiculously complex CMS for the website I designed for him, and he wants the site to launch a week from now. Do I look like superman? Okay, enough ranting. -*BAD WORD*- that felt good though. :][/EDIT]
