Jason Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 That makes sense, SVS. I expect in time though he'll be singing a different tune. ASSS has a long way to go before it's ready for a zone like TW, but surely at some point it'll surp!@#$%^&* SubGame in terms of a balance between stability/features. Or at least I hope that's what happens. :]
Trained Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Hasnt TW always been on SSC? Why change now?Theyre not talking about changing billers..
NightHawk Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 i bet dock is just bitter about all that work going into twcore, and then along comes a server that makes bots obsolete seriously though, it seems very silly for him to make the statement that they would never use ASSS. it can only get better and use less bandwidth over time
Dr Brain Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Actually his reasoning was because TW did not need the features it offered and that ASSS uses an increased amount of BW.One of the design goals of ASSS was to use bandwidth more efficiently, so I don't know how you can say that, SVS. As for Hyperspace being 'laggy', it's not lag in the conventional sence. What happens is that reliable packets get jammed up somewhere and all the important messages from the server stop going to that client. This causes the 'lag out' that Hyperspace players are so fond of. And if ASSS can't handle Hyperspace, no way will it take TW. And I am guessing that even if it could, TW will stick to subgame indefinitly.
Trained Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 You both have good points, well spoken
SVS Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Dr Brain, I did not say that, Dock did. Can you read? I am staying out of this arguement because I do not have enough facts to warrent participation and neither does anyone else here.
attackmonkeys Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 give all zones SSC billing.. -*BAD WORD*-s..whats a zone? ...j/k

If ASSS cannot take 10 or more ppl per zone, its NEVER going to have the capacity to support TW's population of 500+. and plus, thats where all the slimy newbs and bored oldbies go... eww
