Micloren Posted August 22, 2014 Author Report Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) Just found some of these avalanche crossing photos i took. There was a section in Montana where we had to cross about a mile of avalanche debris. The second picture was the worst stuff. The snow was extremely slick and there was tons of loose gravel and rock above us. It took us about a half mile to find the road again. That's me in the top photo and my buddy in the bottom one. http://i60.tinypic.com/t8rl8i.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/kcmoad.jpg Edited August 22, 2014 by Micloren Quote
#TWMASTERZONE Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 That's incredible! Did you buy foodstuff from town to town and sleep in tents? I'd like to do something similar someday, except walking instead. This is very inspirational. Quote
Micloren Posted August 23, 2014 Author Report Posted August 23, 2014 Zero flat tires. Bought food in towns but, usually was able to get one town meal a day. Overall we spent about 3/4th's of the time camping and the rest in motels. Quote
Micloren Posted August 23, 2014 Author Report Posted August 23, 2014 I also did the Appalachian Trail a few month before the bicycle ride. So if anyone has any questions about hiking or biking feel free to shoot me a message. The AT is a 2200 mile long trail that follows the Appalachian Mountains from Georgia to Maine. I believe if i remember right ... that it is one of the oldest and longest marked trails in the world. http://www.martykimsey.com/website/agent_pictures/5237/app%20trail%20map.jpg Video i made about my Appalachian Trail journey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8Mq1spOvoA Quote
