XDOOM Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 Hey, I know nobody reads this, but I have an idea to merge tm's baseduel with deva's old flagging 1. Use deva's old bases, because they are awesome2. Use deva's old map design, several bases, center green, powerball3. Get rid of the credit system (at least the current incarnation of it) GamePlay- Split the teams into two, up to ~6 players per team- One team will be the "attacking" team and the other will be the "defending" team- The defending team starts in a randomly assigned base- The defending team will have an immoveable flag assigned to their base- The attacking team starts at center- The attacking team has x minutes (I was thinking 10-15) to capture the flag from the base- One team will win the jackpot that grows as it normally does. The defending teams wins if they successfully defend the base in the allotted time, the attacking team wins if they get the flag before the time runs out- All players continue to spawn during the game If there are more than 12 players in the zone (more than 6 vs 6), additional teams are createdThere is why I'm hazy what to do, but one idea would be to split into an additional two teams where another 6 vs 6 battle could occur, somehow keeping the bases separated so the other teams can't interfereThe first attacking team to get the flag wins the entire jackpotIf both defending teams last, they split the jackpot (or maybe everyone just wins the jackpot) After every game, the teams are scrambled. Players don't have to participate (they can just duel in center if they want) by opting out of the match and they'll go to separate private teams. They won't be able to enter the flagging areas, but can powerball/duel. Quote
XDOOM Posted June 10, 2014 Author Report Posted June 10, 2014 Some other pointsIf there aren't enough players, have players join a single team against AI opponent (turrets) that are strategically placed in areas of the base that you'd typically place that kind of ship and respawn after a few minutesChanging the credit system to allow users to buy these turrets on top of some of the other options that already exist - but credits earned must be used during that gameplay - otherwise they are reset rather than the accumulative approach we have now Quote
XDOOM Posted June 24, 2014 Author Report Posted June 24, 2014 Expansion on the credit idea for turrets - Credits are gone when game is over- Credits for the "defending" team allow users to buy turrets that will be placed where they are located- Turrets are the 8 different ships using exact deva settings, plus a few upgrade options for each ship (flag like upgrade, super upgrade)- If you get close to turrets they will use repels and bursts- Turrets are only available based on your ranking- Ranking system ranks you based on your statistics (similar to base duel)- Rankings reset when scores are reset- When you move up in a rank, or if you earn enough credits to buy a turret ship you will be notified with an example on how to buy (to help new players especially)- For "attacking" team credits will use the similar settings that exist today with maybe some extra abilities to destroy turrets- "Attacking" team will also have ranking system determine what options are available Quote
