aquarius Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 Hi guys, I'm wondering, in your opinion what is the best billing server software available to date? Thanks! Quote
2pacZ Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 psysops been working on a new biller hit em up Quote
»CypherJF Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I miss Lord Maucaub's, I asked him several time for a copy of it, he never got back to me. Now lost to all time. Guess that leaves Catid's - I was working on one many years ago but it kept having dead lock issues or something and gave up on it. I thought I heard Snrrrub had one that was pretty good but i don't think he ever released it. Quote
aquarius Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 I asked Snrrrub for Isometry last week, no answer. He usually answers. I just asked him again this evening - we'll see. The problem with Isometry, I'm suspecting, is that Snrrrub is usually unwilling to share the source (and that's mandatory in our situation). Quote
Fatrolls Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) Use this one for Windows, It's the official one used for Subspace by Virgin Entertainment too. It can support millions of logins over SQL with backups etc http://www.minegoboom.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9715 It doesn't have high CPU Stress / CPU Usage anymore. Plus if you don't use the SQL it's compatible with SSBilling2's dat file's. So all you do is just run a new exe Edited April 7, 2014 by Fatrolls Quote
Resol Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 You may connect to SSN Let me know. It's just catid's biller, but it's not bad at all. Quote
Fatrolls Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 I don't have the source to Subbill.exe I patched it with a Hex Editor, I found the location where to patch it by debugging it in OllyDbg. Quote
Hakaku Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 If this is for ASSS zones and you're familiar with C#, you could adapt my former biller to your needs: http://forums.minegoboom.com/viewtopic.php?t=8691 (+bitbucket) Quote
L.C. Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 (edited) Aqua, Someone e-mailed me about Isometry recently asking for binaries. Here is Sharvil's response: I'm not even sure I know where the code is anymore. Besides which, it depends on a pretty large set of libraries that I don't have the right to release. I thought there was an effort to create a new biller. And there are already some open sourced billers out there. Would those be a good place to start? FWIW, writing a biller is insanely easy, especially once the protocol is known. And I've documented that stuff as well as the semantics of Isometry on my site so it should be pretty quick to write something similar. Just some thoughts.I'm not even sure I know where the code is anymore. Besides which, it depends on a pretty large set of libraries that I don't have the right to release. aquarius Posted April 8, 2014 Author Report Posted April 8, 2014 I've talked with Snrrrub, he found the code. He's going to test it out and see if he's still got all the libraries and whatnot. Hakaku, thank you. That actually looks pretty well-written and the dev might like it. If anyone else has/knows anything, let me know. We're looking for the best option. Quote
PoLiX Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 A biller is probably the simplest bit of ss you can program. Why don't you guys just make one yourselves. Quote
»Axe Demento Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 Thanks for finding out what happened to isometry was trying to get my hands on it as well or at least the code. But lots of stuff on Sharvil site Custom biller is the best way to go. You can add the stuff you want all the more sweet commands etc. Or just take the open source stuff from cats subiller 2. It has some decent stuff in it. You can hack out the SS registry stuff or leave it in. it kinda works with my love of the old SS clients. has anyone gotten any of the other client projects to actually connect and be playable on any of the billers? Fattrolls got any other cool stuff? i'm always looking for more fun SS things ...Axe Quote
