EVIL ZEBRA Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Hello SSDZers We are looking for people to connect to the CLASSIC zone with any Subspace client they can get to log in. So far we have forced 1.34 to log in. But it wasn't pretty. I'll see about even running a classic biller for it later on. So if you have a working copy of subspace 1.35 that you can use! We would love to see you log in with it. I'll be looking over some old machines that might have working copies of that file and setting up some pc's running windows 95 and 98 just for that purpose Its been so long since i've seen the classic subspace client in action. It was a great deal of fun playing it again. Its smooth in action and thrilling in menu options. Plus the adding removing zone in my zebra opinion is superior to the new client. Its funny to see the different versions in action. From 1.34 static menu to 1.34d/1.35 with the turning ship. If anyone has had much experience using these in the continuum era feel free to share you thoughts here! ...EZDZ... *Zebra FactRecent research has shown that TU-103, a strain of Clostridium bacteria found in Zebra feces, can convert nearly any form of cellulose into butanol fuel. »Axe Demento Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 No one has at first attempt gotten 1.35 to run.Might be a compatibility issue or it has something to do with running 1.35 with 1.34 in a sub directory. I have some recollection of having to do that 15 years ago I'll let you know if i get it working on one of my machines running windows 1995/1998/me etc. If anyone knows how to get 1.35 to run! on windows 8/7 or Linux feel free to post it here or in my thread on the other forum Keep those files coming Aquarius and i for one am always interested in more SS stuff! ...Axe Quote
»Axe Demento Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 1.35 is running nicely on a couple of older machines running windows xp with th 2002 update.1.34 i can run on windows 7,8,8.1, vista its fun to have another option for a client plus there are a lot of things i actually like better about subspace over continuum. But continuum has many good features ie chat related stuff and moving my thor to f1 back when it came out has spoiled f6 for me oh well easy enough to remap my keyboard as a workaround. Or use one of my g1-g18 keys m1,m2,m3currently in g6... but my finger doesn't love the spot (thats what she said) ...Axe Quote
EVIL ZEBRA Posted April 5, 2014 Author Report Posted April 5, 2014 What is the earliest copy of SS that any of you have managed to connect to a biller? I've been looking through really old copies of the game and am looking for equally old copies of the older billing servers. I must say the sniper interface is fun to fly now if only i could break it apart to base a new client on anyone got source code on the early versions of subspace? ...EZDZ.. Quote
