But if you allow people input and don't mind working together a lot of fun can be had. SSC has some great qualities as well. I am fond of chaos for play style and trench wars has a lot of people keeping it running which is a good approach. The classic name database is good but really needs a full time person on working on getting people their names back or at least posting something about the state of the names Here in the SSDZ. We control the names and we are willing to work with you!Its not a competition for who can get the most of the small population that has stated playing for 20 years. Its a game that needs new players to join and old players to teach and regardless of your opinion or views. Just let people play. This is our mission statement. Play more SS. Play it where ever you like playing. Build a zone.To focus on what's wrong with this or that this player isn't playing right has nothing to do with playing the game. As far as inter zone hate there is no need for it. The fact that so many people care should be celebrated not reviledAnd every now and again thank the people who are doing the work for free. I'm not looking for real names i only care about SS nics as i never understood why they were not on the CD. So if you know the NICS that played on the BETA.723 nics with 500plus hours i'd love to see that data. or let me know you achieved this as well and you will be allowed in the 500HoursClub . Well this zone has certainly interested me because this is the first time i've seen:a) bots thinking for themselves/ moving randomly/ sometimes dodgingb- This many bots... all fighting each other (sweet)c) Bots that have names that look like real players + teaming together I could suggestion some possible improvements? 1) i would love a map less confusing/ random - i wanna vs these bots alot but when i die- i often spawn in an area far away from the bots... and trying to get to these bots is like going through a maze. 2) The bots get stuck next to the walls when theres another bot/ player on the other side. 3) Carry on improving the zombies . I'm gonna find myself coming here regularly to see hehe 4) I wouldnt mind games like: kill as many zombies as u can in 5 minutes.... have a weekly record showing the top 5 players + amount of zombies killed in 5 mins 5) At the top right of screen- you could display: Number of Zombie kills + boss kills (see below) 6)*Make a boss ncp thats very hard to kill and shoots alot..... 1 player alone will struggle to kill it. (in a dreamworld: display its energy bar above its head to act like its health bar... and energy is restored slowly- for those soloing it. When energy is very low... make it warp to a random area so people have to hunt it!) <--- i would be hooked on this zone if i could hunt dif boss's and get rewarded Did you make these bots? This map the Kaos.lvl is my personal map that takes elements of the vie maps and other maps that i have liked and new stuff. Part of its goals is to be confusing as sometimes you have to search for your enemy. Tho each part has some purpose and lots of tunnel fighting as well. As far as my main zombie map it will be set up like a city/town. With a central square and buildings you can hide in. Tho it will have safezones that are really short. 10seconds. That way you could hide with them for only a moment if you are surround and if you run out of town you get dropped which in that zone will be like dying. If you are stuck in a part of the map with low bounty you can always take a chance and just hit the insert 2. Bots get stuck. That depending on settings. I can cause that to stop but at the moment it is by design it shows a paused position for them. Also i have methods for stopping them going to close to a wall etc. These particular bots are just set in basic patterns for some spark and a bit of introduction to how they can be. Depending on the Game Type i can have them do tons of stuff. 3. I will currently i am working on a stack of things to allow the ZOMBees to react to what there environment is who is in the area. What their inventory is like. Even pixel colours on the screen. 4. Yes i will make those type of games but they will be for ZOMBee Land. The standard KAOS is going to be a straight ahead chaos fighting zone. As i will have a points system that covers all our zones look for that sort of fun in the future. 5. For the most part i don't like changing the basic game that much. But i could create a Zombie Lvz for doing this type of mod. Also even having something along the lines of how many brains you have left and have the zombies want to kill the player with the biggest brains. ie your number of lifes grows if you kill another player. This would mean you could kill another human just to live longer. But i enjoy having racking info etc. The other thing i would do is have the zone start with say 80 Zombots/Zombees/Zombies and have the game start at a certain time. That way if you wanted to kill the most zombies you would have to log in at the start of the game. But i love designing games for people to enjoy and your coming up with great idea keep them coming. 6. Yes a bot to hunt can be lots of fun. I could a zone announcement showing its energy fairly easily the other quick way to get the same effect would just be to allow everyone to see energy. That way you would know what players were weak and how much energy the zombees/Zombots/Zombies have.As far a cool energy bar that would be dependent on what i can do with the visual lvz files. I think at first though the stuff on the lvz you only get to see in reference to yourself. If someone has created a energy bar for players let me know. The Bots in the zones are from all corners of SS. I will refer to them as ZOMBies. They are fake players that act like a ship/player. But they are not a player everything they do is a result of like a call and answer to make it look like it is really playing. The key bots i use are modified Merv Bots my favorite one being the Bjorn Bot. The base of this bot was from a player named Catid. you can search him up and his merv info his site is still around. I also have Zombots. These are fake players that do something in the zone help run a game announce combo kills etc. I even have a Zombot that relays messages to twitter,facebook and irc. Zombots don't take damage. Some of them are known as one battle bot the base of the bot is from usr (i will correct the name when i review this) and the advances to it are done by PSYops look for more boss bots from him and check out SSZ and also www.subspacezone.com another great place for SS info.The final part of things in the zones are ZOMBees these are regular Clients that are being controlled by scripts other programs that reference files that are being created. The weakest ones will just run patterns. The strongest ones will start to hunt you. The benefit of the ZOMBees is that they will react perfectly to the game. They can pick up flags and will respond to reps etc. eventually i may supply an interface that allows you to run these on machines to help add more ZOMBEES to the game. What i would ideally like to do is have the ability to go from zone to zone without having to log in and out. with ?sendto etc. I have to first find out how they did this in chaos/other zones. For this i don't mind either working on a custom biller that would allow it. As i don't mind using any version of SS i'm not limited by the strong security in continuum. the benifit of this is you could get a gaming stage feel from flying around needing to go to different zones to continue your quest. This would allow you alot of freedom in game settings. But each product in its time.My general gaming goals are1. a points system that runs through all my zones. This way no matter what zone you played the points translate into a cool overall points system.2.a econmy in which you can convert points into zone currency. then with zone currency you can change aspects of the game ie add a map change a map etc3 To always have SVS sets and Ships as a base but the ability to move up from there. I will soon have a zone that will use my unlimited settings. You start at 0 bounty but you can continue to green your ship up to max settings. That way if you see a ship at 10,000 bounty it will be able to warp speed round the map and have a crazy energy level.4.To share having fun and help new players learn how to design and make games. I have been happy to have a fair amount of kids play this game and they often take to it. For this purpose if kids are playing i ask that players make sure they watch their Language. I'll see about checking with hallu to see if i can get a copy of his obscene.txt just to help this along.5.To work with like minded people just to enjoy a great game and fork your attitude is just what I'm looking for. I'll take 1 fun player over 100 chumps any day. The key is have fun! and Play more SS ...Axe Quote
