Vidiot_X Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Shown here is a very large 1024x1024px background wormhole effect which includes blending effects like transparency and alpha blending. The bullets/lasers use a light blending effect that allows them to change color slightly to stay visible over the background effects. The 'in game' look is just awesome and the parallax effect is outstanding giving the game a realistic and pleasing look and feel. Very happy with it. If you are following Phoenix USC I welcome any feedback and look forward to getting our tech/preview demo ready for you to take a look at. Thanks for your support. - Rich - Quote
Resol Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Looks sexy as hell! I don't like the shields animation much, might I suggest something such as: http://3s.subspace.net/images/phoenix/animated_shield.gif Quote
PoLiX Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 I honestly think it is perfect. Not very distracting, but noticeable. Quote
Vidiot_X Posted January 5, 2014 Author Report Posted January 5, 2014 @Resol The video really does not do justice to the shield FX or the rest of the FX and in game look pretty good. But I'm always improving things. - Rich - Quote
Resol Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Cool, I just picture a shield a little differently in my mind. In the video it looks like just a blobish thing and clouds the ship too much. Quote
Vidiot_X Posted January 5, 2014 Author Report Posted January 5, 2014 Ya, I wish I could get better video at HD levels. But I am able to record video at 30FPF 1366x768 while playing Phoenix on my lowly Emachines dual core with on motherboard video. Really not bad and shows how efficient Phoenix runs even on low end systems like mine. Almost everyone should be able to run the client no problem on the humblest of systems. - Rich - Quote
PoLiX Posted January 5, 2014 Report Posted January 5, 2014 Zoomed in so might show a bit better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjDSpOU-r3A Quote
»Purge Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Nice, I honestly didn't expect to come back and see progress. Good job. Quote
