Resol Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 I've noticed this for a while, just wasn't sure why or what this even is: When ever I run DCME I get this: http://subspace.net/drake_hp.png No matter if I let it load (which it may never completely do, because it attempts to do it multiple times) or press cancel (multiple times) DCME still runs, and seems to be okay, although I haven't used it much on this computer. So, obviously I'm using an HP computer. And I'm running on windows 7. Any info would be great! Quote
aquarius Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) Hmm, I have no idea? Never seen that before, and I have installed DCME on at least 5 different computers over the years. It's especially odd because HP MovieStore has nothing to do with DCME, obviously.. Edited September 10, 2013 by Aquarius Quote
Samapico Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 We have concluded that HP was just trying to push its shitty OEM software. Also, according to the interwebz, HP MovieStore is set on a scheduled tasks. So the timing with DCME might just have been a coincidence. Quote
Resol Posted September 13, 2013 Author Report Posted September 13, 2013 I don't know about all that, it did it every time I opened it. Which to me says that there is a link between the two somehow... Quote
PoLiX Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 HP is notorious for installing its own version of various Microsoft development libraries. It is very possible yours were overwritten (or the originals were put there) by an incomplete install (or you removed it) of HP's program, so it is trying to install the program to finish/properly configure the framework. Learned this from experience with another program and my HP printer. Quote
