Surprised no one posted about this yet...

Subspace is going on Steam! (with your help)

That's right, Continuum has finally joined the ranks of steam, but we need your help to make it permanent. For the first time in the history of this game we have all loved, all zones have come together in this massive project to launch this game into the 21st century.

So what do we need YOU to do?

For this to be a success, that's where you come in. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=144913037 and vote in favor of this long lasting game so we can keep it in the hearts and minds of all our players, and open up the fun to new players by increasing our exposure!!

CAN WE COUNT ON YOUR SUPPORT??

Hopefully you will remember how much you enjoyed this game, and help us give that opportunity to others, as well as come back yourself to see how we have evolved.

I have many questions:
-Who made this? Who is this mysterious 'Continuum Staff'?
-I thought we couldn't get Subspace on Steam because we don't really "own" the game... what changed (if it did) ?
-The original link in the email I got was a redirect link from http://restyle.akkermans.nl/ ... Wtf is that? This is the original URL from the e-mail (intentionaly made un-clickable in this post):

This looks pretty shady to me...

Edit: It was posted on http://trenchwars.org/ by dezmond, and he is the one who requested a video that is used on http://subspace-continuum.com/, so I'm guessing he's (part of?) "Continuum Staff", that answers one question...

I think whoever is behind this doesn't realize that even if the game gets voted in, the effort will still fail.

It will fail because no one has the source except PriitK, and PriitK can't give it up because he'd be sued by his employer (disclaimer: this is my hypothesis and it makes sense, but I *could* be wrong).

Best case scenario, it'll get greenlit then be cancelled.

Best case scenario, it gets greenlight, doesn't get cancelled, and you get proven wrong. Worst case scenario it gets greenlight, doesn't get cancelled, and becomes populated again. Damn can't this game die? Another 10 years of trolling for me i guess.

It is based on votes... Total votes over a certain amount of time, etc. It is all about interest.

Only thing that worries me is most the games I looked at that were Greenlit were not free... I may have just been interested in looking at the ones that were not, but Steam does talk a lot about profit sharing and how cost is judged when it comes to Greenlight.

I know they most likely have already worked this out, but something makes me feel this may also weigh heavily against their attempt at this.

We did get new players downloading Continuum just having Continuum up on Greenlight. We're still getting many comments on the Greenlight page. However, the possibility of CONTINUUM getting Greenlit doesn't look so good. We may simply have to re-apply in the future with an open-source client.
