1. Tempest turret should be removed from the game, it is op in c, and demorializes team with team kills in base.

 

2. See-bombs should be added to Oracle, buying Combat with Oracle makes your radar unusable.

 

3. Burst bullets should be treated as same as level 4 bullets for all armors.

 

4. Lancs should be able to buy cat core, for the occasional lancer or the early in reset lanc.

All points but the fourth are unlikely to ever happen.

 

The third in particular makes no sense. Bursts work differently, look differently.. they're just not the same thing as level 4 bullets.

Tempest turret is like AIM 'bot' for Counter strike. What your ship is slow? you can't rotate? You suck? Here have an aim bot.

 

Funny thing is spidernl probably thinks he invented the thing, but DSB loops made 'aimbot' way way way before HS or TurboSlugs Everspace or Magic Kingdom got started. Except his wasn't stationary it was an actual duel bot, that could dodge.

 

Tempest is easy to dodge if you fly back and forth like a retard, You basically need minimal movement (perhaps with afterburner for quick thrust). And it keeps getting the aim wrong. However you also have to be able to aim while doing that (to kill the opponent) and adjust to keep the same distance so he doesn't get too close. Honestly i would remove it regardless of it being adaptable to play against, it's not skill based, something you don't seem to understand, most people prefer skill over lame. Lame is only good if it helps noobs or adds to the fun, however i hear everyone complaining about Tempest, and Tempest isn't a noob item, TWO strikes, no reason to keep it.

 

My wish is that everyone on these forums should be less selfish. Alot of you are the eptiomy of selfishness, which if you don't believe in evil, would qualify as a good substitute. That or Stupidity.

 

If 20 people get in a lanc and have a tempest when spidernl is playing, (if he ever plays pub), he would die so often i am pretty sure he would adjust the turret or remove it. That's how you get all mods/zone owners to change things, just abuse it or kill them a lot in game, so they begin to understand it's unbalanced. I've seen it happen before and i always laugh.

Yes. Your assumption is correct. I always believe I invented everything. That's because I have such a brilliant mind.

 

Also, you forgot that my turrets are mostly a rewrite of something we've had for many years, PointDefense, coded by Dr Brain.

 

And even that might not be the first occurance of Artificial Intelligence in Computer Games!

Here you go assuming that I believe Tempest is perfectly balanced. It's not. You can just drift through center as a Lancaster and you'll probably get 5 kills before dying anyways. However, simply nerfing its DPS further seems like a poor choice. Perhaps slower bombspeed (as suggested by Unix I believe?) would fix it. That'd probably make the TKs in base worse, though, as the enemy team has more time to rep it somewhere.

is it possible to just make a delay before it starts firing?  make it take like a second to lock on or something, u could even make a cool lvz that flashes and says "TARGET LOCKED"

I approve of the target locked idea. Since I'm altering the aim algorithm to be a little less "Lol I'm going to teamkill everything", it might be interesting to see beforehand where it'll aim. In return, I can nerf it slightly more (as information is worth something to the user as well).

Well i think the speed of the bombs are fine. Still dodgeable, the speed makes it fun. It's the lack of energy being consumed which is more a problem. As well it was mentioned the Tempest replaces the option of having 4 turrets, yet doesn't weigh as much as 4 turrets. Perhaps adding a speed reduction to the ship that has the tempest. (So less speed means the turret weighs more). As well i have no issue with the rotation rate. Big ships and turrets will need the rotation to last. The problem is no longer facing one turret. But it's when there are 2 or 3 Tempests at a time, sometimes on the same team. If the nerf encourages team work among tempests, in a way where we can fight 3 tempests with our own teams, then it's all good. Personally i like the aim, it's just no energy being consumed.. which means infinite fire rate.
