ntfx Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 AFAIK ctm doesn't have proxy support. You would have to set up your own proxy server. http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/5344/ntfxboredqv8.png
Mr Ekted Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 A proxy is a program running on a different computer in an attempt to take a different path from you to some destination, like driving a different road. This new path is not guaranteed to be shorter than the normal path, but it may be useful to route your data around a problem spot. Continuum supports SOCKS5 proxies. You would need to know someone running a SOCKS5 proxy, and they would have to be located in a topologically favorable location. Proxies can also be used to "tunnel" through a firewall for better security. http://home.maine.rr.com/user/ekted/pics/ssgc.jpg http://www.againsttcpa.com/images/AgainstTCPA-Log01Small.gif
Nurples Posted August 21, 2003 Report Posted August 21, 2003 I think Ekted's reply should be in the main install file for Continuum. Sooooo many people don't understand what a poxy is or does. I answer the same question about proxies every week. NurplesNeed Web Hosting Cheap? Http://Nurples.com is the answer!!! http://nurples.comhttp://17thparallel.comhttp://ssforum.net
