Hi,

I have Phoenix compiling on Linux. There are a few issues I'm working through all to do with the GUI framework (OS only) that my programming language uses. This is why it is best to port code as early as possible to identify cross platform incongruities. The good news is that aside from the GUI issues, Phoenix is running great on Linux and the speed is comparable to similarly equipped Windows system. On my system here Linux is about a 1/3 faster then windows. Debian 7 (Wheezy) is really much faster the Ubuntu on my Nvidia card and the Nouveau video driver is performing well. In addition the networking seems to be working well which is a relief. :)

I will be splitting off the setup portion of Phoenix onto a proper launch app similar to Continuum. This should fix my GUI issues and is what I had intended. In the future (maybe soon), I would like to shift all of the setup and launch app tasks to Phoenix's in-game GUI which will make porting the game much easier.

Porting to Linux is the first step in a list of platform ports. Below is an image of Phoenix on Debian 7 (Wheezy).

hello! (first post)

i tried to compile it on my ubuntu 12.04 but i failed.. it was kind of complicated to be needing Eclipse for that as i dont know the ropes in there.

i tried to follow your instructions linked to your site but there seem diffrences in the new version of Eclipse

also the link to http://wiki.minegoboom.com/images/a/ad/Disc_svn.wmv seems to be broken

i compiled others before with just a few commands like ./configure , make , checkinstall

please help the non programmers through this :p

i really wish to play(test) this! ..in the past i liked to play Continuum when i was still on windows

cheers
