Dr Brain Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Counterproductive? In what way? Quote
spittnacid Posted November 7, 2012 Author Report Posted November 7, 2012 you are stupid irl shut up troll Counterproductive? cxc Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 I thought it was funny when i saw the title and was going to vote, but brains comments added reality and killed the spirit of it. So i did not bother voting. I can see why acid is upset. I also can see why you dont understand why he is upset. Quote
Unix Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 He was just stating the fact. It doesnt matter what we think, in the end it's up to who's running the zone. Quote
spidernl Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 I voted "don't care", which should tell you all you need to know. Quote
Lone Outlaw Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) You guys are owners of a zone, you have final say there. You are not owners of people. Unless you agree with slavery? Let people have some freedom to express themselves, especially when you have quotes, like "freedom is the right to be wrong" in your own signature. That would include trolls like cheese, or emo tripping carebears like acid. Edited November 8, 2012 by Lone Outlaw Quote
Cheese Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 im not a troll, i just call dumb people dumb when they are dumbwhich happens to be frequently Quote
Dr Brain Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 You can discuss it until the cows come home, but realize that players have never, ever had any input whatsoever into resets. This is for the very simple reason that it would throw the zone economy into chaos if anyone knew when a reset was coming. It has always been this way. Quote

Lone Outlaw Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) eh cheese that was my troll defense.. "i just tell the truth" and people get mad.. im not a troll.. etc truth is in the eye of beholder.. much like beauty.. then there is that quote.. "Beauty is truth, truth beauty," - Keats @Dr Brain, that makes sense for real, (no sarcasm) Edited November 8, 2012 by Lone Outlaw Quote
spittnacid Posted November 8, 2012 Author Report Posted November 8, 2012 well i am done. it was nice playing with most of you. this zone will be dead soon(not just dying) and the owner(s) have every right to let it die. apparently that is what they want. as for cheese, sorry but you'll have 1 less person to troll. Adios! Quote
spidernl Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 Yes, because letting players have input into when resets happen would prevent it from dying. Quote
Dr Brain Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 I feel that Hyperspace takes player input on a great many things (probably more than other zones), but resets are not one of those things. Quote
Lone Outlaw Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) Why does a player need to have input on when a reset happens anyway? It sounds like insider trading.. which by the way is against the law. lol It's not as if they are saying there will never be a reset. There probably will be. Spider could have been planning a reset for next week for all you know. Edited November 8, 2012 by Lone Outlaw Quote
spidernl Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 Tomorrow, 2:00 PM. Spend all your money on Cobalts now, as this is 100% legit. Yep. Trust me on this one, lads. Quote

Lone Outlaw Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Lol yeah technically if you are resetting it's because the economy is already thrown off balance, no? Quote
spidernl Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 Not necessarily. It's because a large percentage of the zone's population will be at a point where they don't really have anything to work towards as they have their "ideal" setups for the most part. To keep it enjoyable for everyone, a reset is necessary. I'd love to make resets obsolete, but a good solution (i.e. one that doesn't involve self-resetting) hasn't really been found by anyone I know of. Quote
Lone Outlaw Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 (edited) Why not reset people individually, and automtically, after a set of inevitable goals has been achieved. Which means the player can't halt the goals to avoid their own reset. Of course you'd have to decide what those goals are based on the zone. And i think it would make it so people always have a set of goals to work towards. And you could even add incentives, after each individual reset, the player gets some type of 1 item reward that they can have through every reset. Or as a reward, they start with 10k more money next reset, or get a special item, or their ship can hold 1 extra item and so on. And then you'd have to find a way to automate it, so it doesn't involve staff having to find the people, see if they reached the goals, and resetting them. heh my ideas aren't so bad for someone who doesn't play? Plus i think because i dont play, i can be more objective, and i leave more of the idea up to you. Edited November 10, 2012 by Lone Outlaw Quote
