More ppl may use bricks, making more interesting fgs, if you didn't have to go all the way to scrap to buy 1. Make it available in center like reps and bursts or allow purchasing in bulk. At this time its not at all practical and a waste of a mount slot.

Bricks are horrible, the harder they are to use the better.

Bricks should have a cooldown.

Last thing the zone needs is easy access bricks with no cooldown.

We've had periods where bricks are used quite a bit... The end game is, whoever bricks the most wins. Being able to stall them from being used over and over and over is the only thing keeping them at bay. If anything, the brick live time needs to be lowered.

Shorter life time is a good solution. Idk know how easy it would be for spidernl but i noticed that when anyone suggests something they get everyone responding back with negative feedback based on speculation. I KNOW even this next suggestion will get replies saying im either dumb or its a bad idea, but here goes... why not just test an idea ingame for a day or 2? But make it as an event. Ie. Jackpot needs to be raised to increase population... so make an announcement/news saying ok this weekend is double exp. Guaranteed pop will be up for that weekend. If it's a success than that may become more frequent. Or in the case of bricks, this weekend bricks can be bought from the ammo depot. Based on the actual effects of such a change we can than see if its a good or bad thing.

A private team can easily have 5 or so ships create a continous, non-stop line of bricks securing victory and ensuring the opponent's defeat. The best solution to this is I think a global brick timer for the team, preventing bricks from being used if the timer is active. Other options include:

-Bricks too expensive to gain money from winning, like 5k each (still allows you to secure victory however)

-Removing bricks from being bought and all currently existing bricks from players' ships

Now of course we say, "thors"! Well that's if they don't use repels (when you have enough thors you might actually stop them from bricking) of course.

"But repels suck, they're unlikely to repel such fast bombs!" Well good thing, huh? Let's make repels suck more to ensure balance in Hyperspace is kept (they should not be able to repel thors AT ALL!!! Take that brickers! Yay!)

But private teams don't exist! You're right, they don't.

I want bricks to go back as permanant items which restock after death, as well as repels, bursts, and thors. Instead of presuming a price tag "balances" it (the item's strength doesn't change), just nerf/buff things until their ACTUALLY balanced. You can start with bursts having 1 bullet per each, then increasing it +1 until a satisfactory number is achieved. Repels are bad enough already. And thors... thorstorms are still good, price or not. Instead of hoping nobody "abuses" thors, how about making repels have a larger radius so they *can't abuse it* (thors reliably possible to repel)?

The changes to the items this itemset have discouraged COUNTERING tactics, not ABUSING them. Thoring to do general damage to the entirety of an enemy's team? Sure. Getting your special, triple thor ships just to (hopefully) thor 1 bricker (who respawns in 5 seconds to attempt to brick again if you succeed, because he still hasn't used his brick yet)? And then the difficulty of repeling a thor ship's (fast) thors with your low range repels? And then with the cost of repels, more people using their guns instead of repeling to stop bursters from killing the lanc? Indeed, the itemset succeeded at these things better then the assumed balance it supposedly made...

What if bricks only were 1 block and could carry like 5 at a time with a 5 sec cool down? This would make team work of brickers to create an effective wall. If a bricker dies than of course their bricks disappear, weakening the wall. It would require more skill and strategy to effectively create cover and stay behind it and allow skilled flyers to manuever around and not just be stopped dead by an impenetrable wall.

I think adding in a "mini brick" item wouldnt be such a bad item. 1x1 brick is rather minimal and easy to walk around as long as the path isnt 2x2. I would imagine it's meant to stall the larger enemy than anything. This might be the one brick I would think would be ok to respawn with.

Bricks are they are now arent ..... Horrible, but they could be better. Either way I would still like to see the live time lowered.

Reps are fine as is, if anything I'd want them weakened, you just need to know when to rep against thors. The biggest problem is when the splash hits you and your teammate caused the thor to go off. I've seen 2 thors pushed away with one repel, and even sometimes 3 thors by one repel. Normally a good thorrer will attempt to bunch up their thors to cause max damage, if all three are targeted to hit you all at once, if you can time the repel it should rep 2-3 of the thors.

i really hate people that spam bricks, theres no counter-play against it

How do you spam bricks if you're only allowed 2 max and you have to go alllllllll the way to scrap to buy? As it is now its a waste to bother with bricks. There needs to be a balance. There's no point in useless items cluttering the item set.

In an ideal and reasonable situation, you can lay a brick > die > TW to scrap and salvage > get another brick > attach to your lanc > brick again

All before the prior brick is gone or at least died just seconds ago

Im too lazy lol

Except that if both teams use bricks to their maximum capacity (which means blocking movement into the base entirely by spamming them), whichever team happens to be defending and is dropping flags will win.

Yes,

I have see many good flag games ruined by bricks. Teams are even (which does not happen often).

It is a slug fest where one team has control, then the other gets it.

Then somoene bings the brick spam, makes what was a great game into a horrible one.

A viable counter would be to park a fat ship in B8 laying jump gates or something to warp out those who try to buy bricks :p

... But you'd get specced for lack of flagging after a while.

You don't, actually. Being in a sector, even if it has no flags in it, prevents you from being specced.

At least, that's how I believe it works. The only sector you get specced for being in is center.

I have tried this, but trans warp is immune to antiwarp. And the failure rate with jump gates is to high, you hurt your team more by not being there then sitting in 8 to try to slow down the brickers.

Trans warp blocking with jump gates would work better if there was a wall around the transwarp area, could get a chance to jump gate them comming and going.

If you do manage to succeed at jump gating them it is on the way to area 8 (not long drive for them to get to safe and buy a brick). When leaving the safe instead of transwarping again they can fly from the safe to the trans warp area and bypass your jump gate spot.
