cxc Posted October 17, 2012 Author Report Posted October 17, 2012 Close to what i used to have, tok + solar + parallel + coils + kinetic, 100% recharge and could usually fully recharge between rushers. Coils now no longer really help with coffins, (biggest clearing item). So team with players who know how to coffin are now op'ed. It takes a while to learn how to coffin. And those players usually group together. They can sit and toy with other team. Let them in and get nano kills. As they approach the fr they say is it time to clear em? if enough ppl say yes the go out and lay some coffins and laugh. Good times for them, bad time for newbs. Quote

I've survived plenty of coffins, both prior to using radi lanc and after the debuff of radi lanc. If you know how to position yourself, so you're not in a corner or in a narrow area, you're relatively safe. Often your team is a great deterrent from having a well placed coffin, and after that there's a nice delay so they cant do it every rush attempt, unlike before. Lancing isnt about being able to sit in a coffin and walk out like nothing happened, it's about playing careful and with thought about what you're doing. If you rush in and dont back away from rushers who you know will try to clear you, of course you're going to get cleared and you deserve to be cleared if that's the case. Quote

Games should have teams with flags in base, other team comes in and tries to battle to flag room. Team inside base tries to push other team out. Killing the lanc short circuits the game. It is supposed to be somthing that is very hard to do. Not fly by and ?field and done. Quote

You might be able to get out but chances are you are dead. And after ad you are dead again. With prior setup you had good chance of getting out. I still died in many coffins even with prior 'overpowered' setup. And after ad if used repells right could get out of alive but very hurt. Quote
Unix Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 Protecting the lanc is part of that reasoning. You need to protect your lanc or have more than one lanc. I've been able to sit in a coffin for about 3 secs and still leave it with plenty of energy. Also there was someone trying to keep me in there mind you. It's because I was in a good position and the coffin was minimized somewhat. If you sit in a corner and get coffined, you should die. A lanc shouldnt be able to sit in coffin and take its time to get out. As for coffin still shooting out bursts even after you've died, yes that is a problem and should be fixed. Quote

Those are nasty... the whole burst spawns right beside a wall so it all bounces back on you instantly. That's when I find coffin to be really lame... Quote

You know, I used to fly Solid or Mezon lancs for a couple resets. I still survived most Coffins. If you can't survive them with a setup that more than halves burst damage, you're doing it wrong.
