Newk Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 ah brilliant! i will check tonight if i can make the time.. thank you! Quote
Bak Posted March 21, 2013 Author Report Posted March 21, 2013 I just updating the path for the Mercurial server, so use http://hg.code.sf.net/p/ss-discretion/client instead of the one that was there before I edit it above (it should download a thousand times faster, the earlier one was a straight copy from the svn repository). Quote
Newk Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 i did all the stepsthen went into bin withcd ~/ss-discretion-client/binthen ran it with./Discretion(there is no .exe extension after the linux build) all went fine!but when i clicked on Zones button, the "Experimental Warfare" zone disappearsso i guess i shouldn't have clicked that (sorry, i just like to click on buttons to see what happens ) so i deleted the ss-discretion-client directory and re-downloaded and rebuild itin order to get the "experimental warfare" zone back after pressing play button it goes into the game engine and displays:Attempting to connect to serverSent Encryption request (..several times)You have disconnected from the server (no data coming in). is this because i use wrong profile password or something? (also tried the default after first run) Quote
Newk Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 ah, when trying to connect it displays this in the command line interface:Net.cpp line 558, drivel: ignoring 6 packet types Quote
Newk Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) single player zone works.. but i have no sound cool to see the engine working tho! Edited March 22, 2013 by Newk Quote
Bak Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 Yes you have all the correct functionality. The experimental zone is not online right now, so when you hit zone list it does a refresh and gets rid of it since there's no response. When you enter it doesn't get a response to the encryption request (since there's no zone online to get a response from). Also, sound is not yet implemented. Quote
Newk Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 great! so you add things bit by bit untill it can handle servers that support the security level of Discretion? i could help out in the sounds and music department (i design/compose electronic music)but i hardly can do any codinggraphics i could help out too if needed cheers Quote
Bak Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 There is a server package as well, based on ASSS, I may look for a host in the coming days to get something semi-permanent running. Quote
Newk Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 i tried to start Eclipse on Raspberry Pi, straight installed from the Raspbian repository, and it did not run.. so i guess to test it on that, i need to compile Eclipse too Quote
Newk Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 ah turns out Eclipse DOES run on Raspberry Pi, but takes VERY long to make the workspace.. also the initial one.Ran into some errors that i will retry later on after some updates here and post the errors i run into... raspberry pi isnt on your to-do list so lets first get all functionaltiy in the desktop client! Quote
Bak Posted May 2, 2013 Author Report Posted May 2, 2013 I got a Raspberry Pi yesterday, and I'm working on converting the code to use Makefiles, so maybe we will see a Raspberry Pi build at some point... Quote
»D1st0rt Posted May 5, 2013 Report Posted May 5, 2013 wat Why are you trying to run something like Eclipse on a rpi? It's way better suited to just be a deployment target after doing your development on something with actual power Quote
