An idea I thought'd be worth mentioning. Have parasite progress in stages, for example parasite->capsule->shell. Parasite evolves into "capsule" at 500 kills and carries a different set of attributes to mix up the challenge (e.g. strip all item slots, alleviate negative modifiers, perhaps remove them altogether). Another 500 kills and the capsule becomes a shell.

 

It'd help players keep count. And I think most would welcome a reduced grind.

Would like to see more ??? items in different categories.

 

Example:

Uses up gun slot - At first gives you non-bounce lvl1 gun and -1burst -1thor, anything that effects weaponry basically. Then after you finish, it gives you a gun similar to pulse/gamma, and at the same time other benefits in another area.

 

Example 2:

Emitterslot - Negatives such as no x-radar/antiwarp or more damage etc, and after 1000 kills it takes up the emitter slot, and gives you benefits in other areas possibly not related to the emitter. Such as better maneuverability.

 

Evolving Parasite would be nice. Had an idea a while ago where the Parasite would evolve based on how you kill/die. If you kill a certain way it enhances itself to make it easier to kill that way, if you die a certain way it helps protect you that way - Every 1000 kills/deaths it changes and removes the original benefit
