FDKGJHDLGFJKH Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 why was it removed from server settings? I want it back. Quote
PoLiX Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 It is a server setting that only worked with the subspace client. With the planned ability of image and sound replacements along with LVZs, it was deemed not a needed feature. You can still load up a SubSpace client and screw around with it though. Quote
Cheese Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 oh that frequency shiftthat was moved to the client settings Quote
FDKGJHDLGFJKH Posted July 5, 2012 Author Report Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) what client settings is that, the 3d sounds? i've just tested it and it didn't workif not then i guess i've had a really good sound card back then Edited July 5, 2012 by FDKGJHDLGFJKH Quote
PoLiX Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 It is not in the client settings, Cheese seems to be mistaken on what you are talking about. As I previously stated, it was not continued into Continuum. Quote
L.C. Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 What did FrequencyShift do again? *nostalgia* Quote
Cheese Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 well its in esc c thenits in there somewhere Quote
PoLiX Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Esc+C is not client based, it is based on the template.sss that is server side. LC: Frequency Shift played with the game sounds. Would play with the pitch of the sounds and distort them by making them higher or lower. Since Continuum made sound replacements easier, and plans for LVZs made it possible for zones to add custom sounds, it was removed. I know for a fact we did that in Bulldogger, and I think T3 may have also had it enabled. Can't recall any other public arenas, but quite a few subs in zones also used it. They may still even have it enabled, but would have to use SubSpace to find out. Quote
