Corey Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 They will never come back, many have tried before you and unfortunately failed. Quote
Dr Brain Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 Because they (historically) have destroyed flagging for everyone. No one has come up with a clever solution yet, so we've stuck to the 2 flagging freq alternative. Quote
NeptuNium Posted May 22, 2012 Author Report Posted May 22, 2012 What if we had "permanent private teams" for squads, and you would have to be in the squad to be on the team. A squad would apply for their own private frequency, and if they met specific requirements (at least 10 members, etc..) they could get that frequency. I don't know, just throwing ideas out there because I miss private freqs. Quote
NuB KiNG Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 Nope sry bad idea, very abd if its implimented instead of the battle arena weve bee asking for forever i will be forceed to stack and destroy every flagame for havin such an idiot dev. Quote
Cheese Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) theres nothing wrong with having 3 player private freqs that cant flag Edited May 23, 2012 by Cheese Quote

cxc Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 if wanted non flagging private freqs would just need to open up freqs above 100 so people could type = 123 and be on freq 123. I wish i could do this while balling, since you need 9 people on freq other than the balling freq to get max jp boost it sucks when people hop and leach while you ball. It would be nice to do = 3856 or somthing and ball alone. Quote
spidernl Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 Would need to slightly tweak hs_flagprivs for that as it uses the "max freq" setting you'd need to change for that. Corey once tried to change that and ran into that issue as freqs 90 - 1000 or something were ?flag frequencies. Might as well go and write a "proper" private frequency module if you're going to be changing modules, in my opinion. Corey Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 yeah basically everything over 91 is a flagging freq Quote
Psythe Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 Could always use a spec timeout for the ?changeteam module. If not in center, sector 8, or the hypertunnels for one minute, spec for assumed interference. Quote
spidernl Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) It's not a dumb idea. A neater solution is possible though: disallow private frequencies from going into any sector but center, HT or b8 (just make the gates "not work") and disable all types of FTL. Edited May 24, 2012 by spidernl Quote
cxc Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 are freqs over 91 still limited to 3 people? if so would it really matter that they are flag freqs? cant do much flagging with 3 people on a team. Quote
spidernl Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) No. That's not the problem either. It means that if there's 1 player on freq 90 and one on freq 91, the next player to ?flag will be put on freq 92, and so forth. Edited May 24, 2012 by spidernl Quote
cxc Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 so if altered freq 90 to be 9998 and 91 to be 9999, would that fix it? Quote
JoWie Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 You could just have specific days or times in which private freqs are allowed. Quote
Unix Posted May 26, 2012 Report Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) You could just shift the flagging freqs to a much higher number instead of 90/91, such as 9000 and 9001 Edited May 26, 2012 by Unix Quote
spidernl Posted May 27, 2012 Report Posted May 27, 2012 Which would be unnecessarily confusing: f2 would show an epic fight of freq ???? vs ????.Real solution: ?changeteam. I don't like band-aid "solutions". Quote
Cheese Posted May 27, 2012 Report Posted May 27, 2012 ?changeteam IS a "band-aid solution"you dont like common sense solutions that work better Quote
Unix Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 who cares of people cant see which freq is fighting? as long as they're flag freqs that's all that matters since there are only two of them. Quote
cxc Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Seeing who is flagging is part of the problem, where you can sit in spec and pick the right moment to ?flag to put yourself on the team you want. Quote
Cheese Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 just set XXXX to 92+theres nothing stopping 92+ from being privatewhats the problem here Quote
