I propose a new ?antiturret command.

 

The player with a lanc could type ?antiturret to toggle the antiturret flag, when set make attaching to thier lanc the same as attaching to a spider where attaching ships are deployed but never actually turret.

 

I am tired of kicking people off and saying i am not a tank, and dont ride me. The other day i was doing a rush and got a turret at a bad time, could not negoiate a corner and died. not sure if rush would have been successful or not but was a downer that it died because i could not round the corner.

Actually, I understand where cxc is coming from. I messed around with a center lanc a reset or so ago, and if you're using a sublight that slows you down when people attach it's fairly annoying to have to spam f7 constantly.

On the other side, a turret with Positron Gun on a rushing lanc can mow right through the enemy team. Just wanted to point out one of the reasons people might want to stay attached to their lanc.

Probably not as much as the lanc itself could have done by moving more quickly, to be honest. The positron gun would be better off un-attached behind the rushing lanc (or better yet, using a rushing ship as well).

Right, i am not saying do away with turrets, just to let player decide if he will allow them or not on his lanc.

 

I know about the f7 key, i have it shortcutted as T. I hit is so often i should take out the and make it a regular key. Right now T is attach (/?attach) and T is boot (f7).

imho, there is no need for a lanc to be able to have turrets.

 

Another thought is to have no ship be be allowed turrets. And create a new item called 'turret mount' that only ship 7 can buy. If user buys a turret mount then he can have turrets.

Only way these ideas are ever going to make it in, is if you have brain on your side. Chances of any idea being implemented without brain noticing it are... If I've done my math correctly -> 0.0004%

Or you try to convince me that it's worth spending my - limited - time on.

The no-turrets-unless-you-have-item-x idea is actually pretty interesting and possible to implement.
