Cheese Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 spidernl broke the zone, then decided to take a nice vacation Quote
Cheese Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 normally i wouldnt care how often spidernl breaks the zone, but to break it, walk away, and leave the zone dead for a week makes me want him to be axed Quote
spidernl Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) Steps to fix the zone: 1) Go to the hscore repository.2) Look at the recent commits, two of them I believe, to the hscore branch. They both are about me modifying a lock.3) Undo these commits in whatever way you prefer.4) If you can't push to the repository, send them to Dr Brain right here on the forums.5) Ask Dr Brain if he can recompile.6) Zone is back up and somewhat stable again. Cheese Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 isnt the whole thing about revisioning software that you can simply undo those last 2 revisions and recompile? Quote
Cheese Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 also, this is the main reason i keep telling you that you need to test your changes on your own computer, and only compile them into hs after you know they work Quote
spidernl Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 I did test these things, in fact I ran into the issue that HS is having right now when ColdfireX used the 'newest version' of HSCore in his test zone. That's why I didn't ask Dr Brain to recompile after making these changes. I was planning to properly fix the issue that I added the lock(s) for and then push to the repository before asking for a recompile. In short: didn't have time, crashed the zone, 'Doc recompiled to fix the zone, zone ended up with "broken" HSCore. Quote
NuB KiNG Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Currently zone is red, what is going on? Some retard broke it. Again. Quote
Patman1 Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 hasn't anyone here heard of such a concept called backups??? Quote
spidernl Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 The repository is one big backup in this case. It isn't hard to fix. Quote
Dr Brain Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Actually this is the first I've heard about any problem. I don't check the forums much, and I'm never in game. Someone sent me an email last night that let me know it was broken, which is why I checked here. I don't have time to look into it now, but If someone lets me know a good revision number, I'll roll hscore back and recompile things tonight. Quote
NuB KiNG Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 reset the whole exp/money thing for everyone while ur at it, maybe we will log back in when its up Quote
Jareth Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 changeset 705e713832da should be fine, but 77eb39e2e4c9 was probably the last recompile. Quote

Unix Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Posted in the zone down forum when it happened. Quote
Dr Brain Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Back up. I'll watch the other thread, but in the future it's probably better to assume I have on idea what's going on. Quote
cont Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 if spidernl already figured out how to fix it, is anyone going to do it? or is it already happening? Quote
