Delic Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 It's that time again - someone comes along saying they're going to make a SubSpace radio. This is something I've been wanting to do since around 2003-2004 when I first hosted 17th Radio... I'm going to do it to play around with my new mixer mostly, for practice... and fun of course. There's no big plans or anything. The idea is old. I was a big fan of Trench Center for those who remember that (Get on your Karma Horse!!!, mount it!!) I want to do something similar.I realize most people don't really care about radio anymore, and that's OK. I'll record each show anyways so people who happen to be interested can download. I have some old voice chat material that I've gathered through the years that I'd like to broadcast too. If anyone is interested in contributing - with skits, match commentary, anything... just let me know. I think I'll need a good server kuz I live in South America Quote
dkson0 Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Heh, Subspace Radio not A bad idea, but maybe it's kinda hard so no one tries.Don't GIVE UP BECAUSE I SAID THIS! Hope u get help. PoLiX Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 Would have to look at it a bit, but I may be able to host it. Would need to do some testing first. Lemme know if you don't find anything else first though. Quote
Delic Posted February 11, 2012 Author Report Posted February 11, 2012 Thanks Polix. I might just use ustream for now. I tested it today and it seemed good enough. Quote
Caerbannog Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Thanks Polix. I might just use ustream for now. I tested it today and it seemed good enough. Screw uStream, if at all possible, use own3d.tv or twitch.tv. Both of those sites are gaming oriented, your channel with its 3 viewers from SubSpace and 3 people who click the wrong link might get the word out there. Then whatever horrible non Chaos/4v4 zone you represent might get some players With much <3, your favourite dic(k)tator, Caerbannog Quote
Delic Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 good idea. i tried to, but you have to download apps to broadcast on those. the adobe app requires video input apparently. this "xsplit" app requires that you register. tried that as well but got an error. then you also have to configure the apps. it's a pain. on ustream you just need to press "Go Live" and then "Broadcast" and it's up and running. Delic Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 btw Caer, if you know anyone in Premier with radio commentary experience (or just someone who'd be good) who's still around, plz let me know! Quote

Resol Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 I have a shoutcast server running that myself and a couple other djs use and we also have a in-game chat. The chat is 'ssradio' and people can open the stream in a web player or stream on http://radio.subspace.net/ I use SAM BC to connect and broadcast, but I know winamp can also be used. Quote
»Xog Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 (edited) I noticed y'all were mentioning xsplit and twitch.tv I don't know why nobody does some livestreaming for SS, it would be hella fun to tune in and watch if I wasn't playing. I'm currently doing a stream of some recorded footage (24+hrs) from my xbox (I have an HD-PVR connected to PC to record the footage). It's still a bit choppy but I've been working out the kinks over the past month and a half. http://www.twitch.tv/XIM_Gaming If anyone has some questions for Xsplit (it's what I use), don't hesitate to ask. Also - as of right now you don't have to pay anything, it's still in beta. Although I did pre-purchase for the deal (was like 70% off) for 1 year sub. I'd love to help y'all get a twitch channel up. Best part about twitch is that you can have multiple people stream through your channel, not just one! Edit: lol'd i still have this sig Edited February 17, 2012 by Xog Quote
