PoLiX Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 This has happened quite a few times lately, and I just had to essentially deny another ticket because of it. Many many names that name traders create, have legitimate e-mails. Why? So they don't lose them. Sadly this is where they are smarter than you average player. If you take a name from another player, or trade for a name and they lostpassword the name, we are unable to help you. Legitimately, their Registration info will match the name, and they can say it was stolen, etc. Then by filling out a ticket for us to retrieve it for them, they can technically retrieve the name. It is impossible for us to know the thousands of names people use, and who they belong to. All we can go on is last login information and registration data (along with 1 or 2 reliable alias dbs). It is important that you do not trade for names, or take names from another player. You might find yourself screwed over in the end. Quote
Plutorus Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 This is good info. Maybe worth a sticky? Quote
»Maverick Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Good information every player should know. Polix, you should consider changing the topic title into something that reflects the contents. Like "A Warning For All: Do not trade Continuum Names".Maybe the topic will be noticed even more this way. Quote
Samapico Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 Or "Name trading is bad, mmm'kay?" Quote
Cheese Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 or maybe "people that trade subspace names/squads are faggots, but this is common knowledge anyways" Quote
janicejones452 Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Very informative! You have good points here. Quote
