CommanderHB2 Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 (edited) Okay, this has been getting on my nerves for quite a while, now. 'this kid has cancer lul' 'lol is that why you hate your life so much?' 'your fucked' 'gg to u' 'looks like you just ran out of life LOL'(collected quotes from various dickfaces) YES. I have Cancer. - Do I like people belittling me because of it? Hell. No. - Do I like when people think it's fucking hilarious? Hell. No. - Do I need you emphasizing the fact that I'm most likely going to die? Hell. No. ---------- A lot of folks have been asking me about it, lately, and it really bothers me to talk about it; especially since most of the people who are wondering are laughing their fucking asses off, saying "Ha! Glad I'm not that kid!". I appreciate those who have a real concern for my condition, even when they shouldn't. If another person attempts to speak to me about this and deliberately make me feel like shit because of it,they WILL be ignored and I will ensure never to speak to them again in the future. Lay off. Thank You. Edited December 15, 2011 by CommanderHB2 Quote
Jareth Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 You realize making a post like this will just make it worse, right? Quote
CommanderHB2 Posted December 14, 2011 Author Report Posted December 14, 2011 (edited) In most aspects, yes. However, this post eliminates all reason for me to even give anyone information regarding it, in-game. They can just read this and shut their goddamn mouths. I don't care about whatever flames may come my way because of it. Edited December 14, 2011 by CommanderHB2 Quote
Corey Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 Hey man, sorry you have to fight through this... I've lost a couple close family members to cancer. Stay strong bro. Fight as hard as you can and you can make it through it. Don't let those assholes bring you down. Quote
spidernl Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 (edited) Some people are just pathetic. But it helps that you know anyone who makes fun of you for having cancer is a complete failure in real life. "Look at me, I'm anonymous on the internet and I'm trying to look cool by bullying people with cancer.". Just imagine the guy saying that as skinny (or incredibly fat), pale skinned and acne-infested. Don't forget about the squeeky voice, either. That's probably a fairly accurate visualization of what they're like in real life. Anyways, I gotta move this to trash talk as it's not quite "core Hyperspace" talk. Edit: deleted flame post(s). Lera Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 Sorry to hear this horrible news!Perhaps cancer will find those who laugh, call it the nature of Karma... LOL Quote
Mistarbob Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 I guess I'm going to have to be the one to say it: people don't make fun of someone because they have cancer. It just doesn't happen. What does happen, though, is that people make fun of someone however they can and laugh at their misfortune because they don't like that person. And while it is certainly not in proportion to laugh at someone's impending death over dislike in an online game, it should not be unexpected; who or what you are in the real world is of little bearing to the people you're complaining about--all of us lose perspective when we compete, else we are not true competitors. If you make yourself into an object of dislike in a competitive environment, you can expect to be treated as no more than that, so instead of asking for special treatment because you have cancer, you should try improving your relationships with others if you wish to lessen the edge of your assailants. spidernl Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Doesn't change the fact that I think laughing at "someone's impending death" is, in my opinion, pathetic. Trying to deliberately hurt someone using facts (as "severe" as these) from their life that they are probably trying to get away from by playing a game like subspace in the first place isn't something anyone should do, no matter how much you dislike someone.
