arcaries Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Why is it that sometimes when me and my room mate play from our house that we get spec'd? I understand that we're using a router and sharing the net, but we're using a 5 mbps connection, so I figured that shouldn't be a problem. Is there a fix to our issue or can we just not play at the same time? Quote
Hakaku Posted October 14, 2011 Report Posted October 14, 2011 The exact lag settings are particular to each and every zone and arena. It's quite possible that your internet connection is momentarily spiking, causing you to get automatically placed into spectator mode. Background applications can also place a strain on your connection, and throttling at your ISP level is also possible. You should be able to tell for yourself where the source of your problem is stemming from. If you can't play without getting spec'd at one, then you may want to consider checking with your ISP. If it only occurs when two people are on, does it affect you both, or just one? Is it because of lag between you and the server? (You should be able to obtain a 'trace' from the game menu) Are you both playing in graphic-intense zones? Does one of you get spiked when the other is downloading something (e.g. a new map, etc)?
