Judging intelligence by knowledge of the English language is something only a really dumb person would do.

Also, how dumb do you have to be to constantly use "your" instead of "you're" and such? You still do that quite often.

Knowledge of English language? Unless he's in a University doing placement tests for English courses SPECIFICALLY for you. He won't know what your 'knowledge' of English is. Not to mention everything you type on here has a spell check. And the fact that it could not be about knowledge at all. People write based on preference, it's what they want to type, or how they want to type. Or at the most, it might be a habit to spell something the wrong way, but if you give them multiple choice of a wrong way to spell a word, and a right way. I am sure they would know the right one.

Even then, I'm quite sure my Dutch spelling (and possibly French and German too, depending on whether or not someone's had classes in those languages) beats that of most people here. And I'm not saying you're all dumb because of that either.
