Planning on making a 2v2 tourny, need ideas like should prox be allowed, thors, should it be both jav+wb etc..

so far ive made a map, need corey to set it up so i can receive feedback also..

Teams of WB/Jav only.

Mines allowed, exclusion of SoP/Smart bomb.

One mount allowed with whatever specials you have in your ?shipitems at start.

Sign up with 2-3 people to make team.

I agree with Nut.

Though 1 wb and 1 jav on each team would be interesting, I think double wb and double Javs should be allowed.

L1 prox only. No smart or sig prox bombs higher than l1.

 

Aside from these duels, you should try to start a turret wars event.

Double warbirds should under no circumstance be allowed. Dual javelins is probably just self-gimping, so I'm not too sure about restricting that.

 

I challenge everyone who doubts the necessity of this rule to a 2v2 against me and P Nut, where we will use warbirds, and the challengers use javelins.

I'm not too sure about restricting use of Smart Bomb. To be fair, if a team has too much trouble with it, just getting Wave Disperser will make it somewhat of a joke.

String of Pearls however should be disallowed. When used well, it simply disallows any kind of aggressive tactics making the user overly powerful.

So dont allow smart bomb, but allow yamato and zephyr ?

 

Wave will effectively and easily nerf prox bombs easily. Then since it's 2v2, it should be less of a problem. Could try a few 2v2s then see how it goes exactly.

I only have a problem with Smart Bomb. Yamato easily hurts your own team. Sure, there might be a couple people that could use it well; but for the most part it's not hard to counter. Zephyr is a sig. The person using that would have to sacrifice other areas proven dueling builds. Smart Bomb, however, is the best of both worlds. A decent sized prox bomb coupled with a conventional duel sig. No thank you.

I say any ship combination, anything goes - but no items. Map is okay, but I rather use the largest box in ?go boxduel

Duel can be similar to 1v1. When a player dies, he stays out until the next round. You win a round by eliminating the other team. First to 5 wins match.

sop would never be allowed in anything, smart bomb is easily beatable, a player with a smart bomb will most likely leave his team mate alone on the battle since he will try to avoid the splash damage, we just need to explain to players like corey and p nut that speed+wave beats prox (we also need the thin own self bot that kills u when u suicide for more pain on prox users)

 

also 1 wb and 1 jav on each team sounds good

 

 

BZAP -i like the big box on boxduel too, but i think we need a few obstacles if not we will have smart bomb users spam from wall to wall for kills. also yeah, last team standing wins the round and 1st to 5, like duels.

Just using a different armor doesn't solve anything. If you got Wave Disperser, you'd be vulnerable to every weapon that isn't a prox bomb. And since you can get a sig with Smart Bomb, you could get Flash or Omega and match the speed of conventional duel builds. That means faster bombs with even less time to dodge their already overreaching proximity.

Get Wave Disperser => one of the enemy team's players does pitiful damage. Why is that not enough? You also want protection from the other guy? 'Best of both worlds' has never been a motto for items in HS. Edited by spidernl

Some suggestions:

 

Teams

- 1 WB / 1 Jav or 2 Javs, depending on the team's preference.

 

Items

- Allow all guns/bombs. Smart bomb is really not as OP as you think it is.

- No mounts. Sometimes reps gets glitchy and specials in general tend to decrease the actual skill involved in dueling. Also gets rid of the need for a ship to have anti.

- All mines should be allowed as long as players are not allowed to reset them by going in safe. SOP is really not OP and in 2v2 settings, mines should be a viable part of the dueling strategy.

 

Map

- Use a large duel box.

- Obstacles should be included, but limited. There should be no obstacles that allow a ship to outrun two enemies.

thats the box it's the same size as the big box on ?go boxduel, maybe we can have corey replace the old one in ?go boxduel and somehow magicly be able to fit two of these in there and also leave space to put up the 2v2 squad winner's name up on the map. :>

2v2 Tourny Rules

 

-Allow and all guns/bombs including SOP

 

-Teams of 2 Wabirds are not allowed, since thats clearly OP, Teams of 2 Javs are allowed or 1 WB and 1 Jav

 

-NO Items YES Mines

 

-Teams will be only 2 players PER team/squad

 

-If a player lags out on his team, he sits the rest of the match, if both players lag out its a loss +1 to the other team. If the other teams agrees to allow the lagged out player back in, he can come back in. if not GG sit in safe.

 

-1st To win its first to 5

 

* Winner gets LOTS of monies and their squadname posted on the .?go boxduel arena

 

ill post date soon, also need a mod to put the damn map up on a useable arena, wtf
