»Maverick Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) I own a few subspace domains and recently I even acquired subspace.net. The domains aren't serving any purpose, apart from redirecting to subspace.co .ss-network.net (subdomains in use)sshq.net (subdomains in use)subspace.net (in use by Lynx)subspacehq.comsubspacehq.netsubspacehq.orgsubspace2.comsubspace2.orgI would like the domains to be put to good use, so anyone who has a subspace-related website or intends to create one, can use these domains. Anyone interested? Edited October 20, 2011 by Maverick Quote
»Lynx Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 Would it be okay for me to offer third levels under these for those who I host; currently I can only provide *.krslynx.com which isn't very subspace related. Cheers Quote
PoLiX Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 Side Note: Your stats has been reporting the SSCentral directory server down for 2 days+ yet it is up? Quote
»Maverick Posted August 28, 2011 Author Report Posted August 28, 2011 Lynx,Which domain would you like to use? I can't give you ss-network.net and sshq.net as there are still a few subdomains in use under these. Do you want subspacehq.com, .net or .org ? I will then assign the nameservers of the domain to yours so you can use it for your website hosting. Polix,The stats are reporting the directory server is down (you can test with directoryclient-web.php), directoryservers.sshq.net can't connect either and Continuum can't connect either. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 (lols at PoLiX slightly being off-topic) glad to see domain work redirecting people though. Quote

Was working fine for me yesterday and this morning, but I restarted it just to see. Again shows it running, I can download from it just fine, and so can a few other people I asked. Odd... As for the domains... Sadly doubt anyone will do anything major with them. Seems people would rather just work on their zone's website anymore. Quote
»Maverick Posted August 28, 2011 Author Report Posted August 28, 2011 (edited) My Continuum client can't make a connection to the directory server sscentral.com here though.Firewall issue perhaps? Yes, I figured nobody would really be interested. I'm keeping the domains registered just so they stay in the community and can be used if anyone would want to do something with them. PoLiX Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 Just weird some people can connect. Restarted the vps, as firewall looked normal. Zones have been / are connecting to it fine without being blocked. Now your site shows it up, but http://directoryservers.sshq.net/ still shows it down. Not sure what is up there. As for the sites... I was watching SubSpace.net, but just felt it'd be wrong to redo something that had been done/died off. Use to be tons of SS related websites... now there is just 1 actively updated (though not much as of late). Quote
PoLiX Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 Well, here is something funny. Upgraded the firewall, and poof... http://www.sshyperspace.net/ is now working too. But never showed any denies in IP Tables log, Firewall log, etc. Must have been a bug in that version of the software. Honestly the biggest reason I hate software firewalls. Edit: and now http://directoryservers.sshq.net/ shows it as up. hah. Quote
»Maverick Posted August 28, 2011 Author Report Posted August 28, 2011 (edited) directoryservers.sshq.net didn't show it up earlier is most likely because the page is cached so it loads faster once it's cached. The cache expires after 60 minutes. Edited August 28, 2011 by Maverick Quote
XO-MANOWAR Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 (edited) As I was looking at this post,it made me think...who owns subspace.com ? If you got too it..seems to be just a looping site that goes nowhere.Seems counter-productive to the "life" of the game.Thoughts? Edited August 29, 2011 by XO-MANOWAR Quote
»Maverick Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 (edited) As far as I can see, subspace.com isn't for sale. It's owned by Richard Merit (I don't know who he is) and his current registration will expire in 2012-10-22 (which will most likely be renewed). Simply put, it's not possible to get the domain. PS. Fun fact: I just discovered that the previous owner still has subspace.net for sale Edited August 29, 2011 by Maverick Quote
