spidernl Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Don't even know who you are, why did you post in these forums?
spidernl Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Oh, didn't read the title. What were you banned for?
PoLiX Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Bypassing his multiple net-bans for stealing names and squads. Used a bot to log owners of all squads in a dictionary of words. Then using that list, targeted compromised names from the TW site hackings. Recently attempted (though got a few names ie: Pure_Luck , wasn't fully successful) to exploit the tw forums. He won't be coming back this time. Had to set a type of ban I honestly don't think has ever been set netwide before.
Avast Posted August 20, 2011 Report Posted August 20, 2011 Logging squad names and owners should not be illegal. I can make notebook list of that crap without a bot. Everything else is illegal. I only agree with bans for cheaters/exploiters etc. Someone who does those sorts of things is open to a battle of bans and unbans, and hacking etc. If he even knows how to. Also you have to ask yourself if he knows how to do any of that or if someone else instructed him and he just leeched off their knowledge and ultimately that other person was the main culprit. At the same time you could basically make anything up and say you have proof, but nobody here sees it, so no one really should believe you. For all we know someone gave him Pure_luck, and you assumed he was the one who did everything, and technically a good hacker doesn't leave a trace behind, so you would have no proof anyway. People can be guilty by association.

Samapico Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 [...]and technically a good hacker doesn't leave a trace behind, so you would have no proof anyway. ... and that's why he's banned. 'cause he's NOT a good "hacker"
Avast Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) Just saying from experience. Example Hoch accused Boris of hacking DSB once, and banned him. However Hoch had no proof Boris did anything. They just went after him because he openly admitted, that he had some technical knowledge, and sometimes he would go through walls or do something miniscule in game. So they wanted him gone for good, and accused him of a bigger crime. Pretty low handed and expected of people who have the power to do anything they want. People have little self control, and follow their personal preferences rather than finding solutions to problems, etc. I wouldn't believe the president if he said there are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Only an idiot would do that. So only an idiot would out right believe what Polix says. This is no way a discredit to Polix. While I am sure he is of admirable character, people should not just believe everything they hear or read regardless. Proof is required and people should not fear asking questions. Where was the proof there was Nuclear weapons in iraq? Where is the proof -nn hacked anything. Perhaps he got names, but maybe he did not hack. Where is his IP all over the server logs? Who is double checking these claims, or is polix the only one accountable? If he did not hack, that means its pointless to ban him forever. Especially if he was a bad hacker anyway. Just prevent morons for gaining things to easily and ban him for a few months. Problem solved. P.S Boris still plays and is not gone for good or specially netbanned. Either because you can't, or he really is innocent of the accusations. The events between him and Hoch happened in 2002. Maybe earlier. If he really was guilty, time would have revealed everything, because he would just have hacked again and got caught, and been banned forever. It's 9 years later and hes still here. spidernl Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Where is the proof -nn hacked anything. At the place where Hyperspace is a democracy and changes are made by letting the population vote.
Dr Brain Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 I had nothing to do with net banning this guy. But SSCentral is just as much of a democracy as Hyperspace (i.e. not at all).
Avast Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) Proof is decided by votes? If Polix banned him without proof, he should just say so. I don't believe someone hacked anything, just because someone tells me they did. That was my only point. I never said to unban anyone. Edited August 22, 2011 by Avast
spidernl Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 What kind of proof are you looking for exactly?
kevinz000 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 nn is great bot creater wait wat was he banned for again? and i dont think he should be banned
CommanderHB2 Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Oh damn. I just talked to the guy not too long ago. He wrote me some bots c,c. I don't think he really had much of a great reason to be banned.

If what polix posted is true (which I assume it is), I'd say there's plenty of reason to netban him.
PoLiX Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 And the list of about 10 website exploits he just sent to the TW sysops/dev, and Spacehiker and Myself.
CommanderHB2 Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 I just personally believe it's kind of odd. Oh well.
Cheese Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 plus if hes reporting exploits to the people who can fix them, why is that a bad thing?
Dr Brain Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 There's no one that can fix them, so he can't be reporting to them. QED.
