1v1 WB/JAV Dueling Tournament FOR EVERYONE

1V1 tournament in ?go BOXduel with a huge money (300k) prize for EACH winner, so get your ships ready to own.

Rules:

 

1. It will be separate tournys WB vs WB will he heald 1st then Jav vs Jav

 

2. Prox Will be ALLOWED but items and mines NO.

 

4. if you Lag during the fight = 1+ point to the opponent.

 

3. It will be first to 5 (NOT 5B2)

 

It will be a simple single elimination tournament

 

 

I will also try and convince a mod to place the winners name somewhere on the zone arena for immortal glory.

 

Every player i've asked to participate has said yes, so theres a few players already on the tournament.

 

 

(also prize might increase from here to the event day)

The way I suggest you do this is by getting all the players names, and making a ladder out of them. Make it random. And if the player can't show up when it's their time to play, give them 1 more chance, then just make it an autowin for the person who didn't show up.

Forgot to say: wb only for me.

 

If possible, the starting ladder should have players randomly paired up as you said, but instead of having set times, you could have it just be during the main event, "oh we're both here let's fight"

 

Also, there should be a participation reward, and small prizes for wining fields that increase as you get closer to the finals

Well, you could keep the 'lower tiers' of the league (like the first matches) private, people just hold them between eachother. You'd need some 'neutral party' there to make sure there's no cheating. Say if player A won 5-3 against player B but player B wouldn't admit it afterwards..

 

Or you could opt to do it all in one day. Please do make sure if you do that, it's a timezone everyone is generally AWAKE. As in, if you can please keep the start somewhere between 6 and 9 pm GMT.

Or split up the league into two parts so you don't have issues like starting at 10 pm GMT and having the league continue until 1 am GMT (2 or 3 am or later for some of the Euro players) due to the sheer number of players (even 5 duels can easily take 1.5+ hours if the players are competitive).

Spiders time seems reasonable to me. I'd rather do it earlier in the day, and 6 to 9 gmt is 1 to 4 est, which is perfect for me.

 

Could the duel bot be brought back for this?

also toxic, the duel bot thing is a good idea too, but no one cares enough to make it happen, i had to almost beg dr brain to put my ?go boxduel map in, imagine a bot.

 

oh yeah, i would LOVE to reward players as they move up in rounds, but there just isnt enough money, and mods dont seem interested in granting some money for a lovely event such as this.

that ub bot, seems pathetic in every way possible, and ?challenge is useless

i hope he means a bot that records duel results like in every other zone, a bot with ranks and rating and !history player vs player commands

What's wrong with a referee? With ?challenge you have issues like the opponent getting lag specced and the other guy going 'k I won you specced'.

Also coding for 1 event is kind of meh. I don't have coding time growing on my back yanno.

Please make this a 1 day thing. If you end up allowing people to decide their own individual matches, this tourney will never end and eventually it'll just die. Just try to set a reasonable time and those who can make it will play.
