Also, when browsing through the forums, i noticed there isn't a page selection, would it be possible to get it back? as well as on the mobile site there isn't even a page selection for the posts.

You can also right click the images image shack uploads. Then click View Image, for the exact link.

 

But really can't believe you didn't know..

I used to be able to just copy paste the link it gives and the image would be just fine. Now it doesn't work like that. So I'm guessing it was the site change.

That is the point of the game, and how its done is what makes it fun. How many zones have you seen where the point wasn't to kill? Then ask yourself how many of those zones are / were popular.

 

Anyway, I'd like to see the finished product when its ready.

It's just a standard video, that has no imagination. Shows ships blowing up.

 

It's nothing against the creator, and the movie itself was made nicely as far as technical knowledge goes.

 

But if everyone here would endeavor to make a video, it's almost guaranteed their videos would be very similar to his.

1. Mainly Cut scenes with words,

2. Some lame music

3. Ships exploding

 

This is exactly how you know it lacks creativity. I have seen countless subspace videos resembling his up till now already. Most were zone related only and not meant for the whole game/community. His video hardly represents every zone. And barely acknowledges league, flagging, basing, hockey, or other styles of play. EVEN IF IT DID. He would present it in some mediocre fashion which LACKS IMAGINATION.

 

When everyone thinks alike, no one thinks at all. So maybe you should ask more questions and get details, before you presume to know what I mean or what I know. Instead of cherry picking.

 

I could tell him how to make his movie 100x better.

Agreeing with Avast feels odd, but heck.

 

I do agree on the vid being a little meh. The music is overly epic for what you actually see: incredibly outdated graphics of ships exploding.

Show some fun events or something, show the range of gameplay we have. Another good idea might be to show the ?jump stuff in Hyperspace (since it looks pretty). Makes it look like there's more to the game than super oldschool pewpewing.

I agree the video doesn't show much, I think I saw TW and Hyperspace, and I didn't see any ships that were not the original.

 

Here's what I meant, nearly every zone revolves around a goal, and that goal is to win and at some point you'll be blowing up spaceships. Its the most relevant part of our game, and the diversity comes in on how you blow up those space ships.

 

In every style zone, other then maybe hockey zone, you'll be either blowing up ships while playing the event or dog fighting.

 

Maybe just through some better clips in there for example:

 

Show someone getting chased and taking fire, and then they lay a portal and warp behind their enemy and kill them.

 

Show more diversity in the graphics other then what comes standard (which are over a decade old).

 

And to be honest, I think the epic music made the game feel a lot more exciting then it really is. Almost made me want to go play it!

 

And again, nice start with the video. I have some in-game clips on my computer if you're interested. Instead of just saying the video sucks, why not put up some valid responses with some positive feedback. When someone looks at something, then just says "Hey that sucks, what you're doing sucks, and everything about it sucks." Its a little discouraging. If you think it sucks, why not make what you think would be better. Lead by example, not with a negative attitude. (directed to all the Negative Nancy people)

I don't think it sucks. I know it sucks. Different things.

 

One deals with weighing the object against my personal desires, the other has nothing to do with what I want but with the actual intended goal of the object.

 

What I want - Nothing, which is why I didn't make a video. Do you understand? If I wanted something, like a personal dream come true. I would of course do it myself. If I was telling him his video however is very far from the goal of the video, that is something else entirely. He asked, I gave my opinion. Get over it if you don't like it when people are direct and say things as they are as opposed to what? Being courteous? Courtesy is a form of phony social behavior designed to cover true feelings. Besides I already stated on the technical aspect it was well made. So I have never thought that the whole thing sucks. And I approve of the idea of having a spoiler video for subspace. Meanwhile you are basically agreeing with me that it was not creative as it could have been.

 

And yes you can present the game, and show it's purpose is to kill. This is not the problem. Creativity is the problem. I could present subspace in a different way showing the same goal (killing), making it 10x more exciting than showing ships blowing up in cutscenes. "if all you are showing is ships blowing up - then you missed the point of the game" Was my comment. That's nice I see cutscene with words, and ships exploding. This does not interest me. It's mindless killing = no point. Meaning he missed the point of the game. A trailer showing mindless killing is not what I call epic. I call epic having a purpose. And killing is a purpose because you fucking set goals for yourself. Hence he needed to present killing in a more creative fashion.

 

Maybe show the goals, make a story out of it? You can easily make a rivalry video, Noob vs Pro, and show continuum in a competitive fashion. You could present how a noob handles the game, and show a lot of funny shit, then show a pro, then show them fighting, and have the noob eventually score a victory. A 10 second idea by the way.

I was thinking about what I would like to see in the promo video:

 

So that there are players around to meet and kill, but also make squads with, or team up with.

 

So some damn trash talking in the chat and some follow ups! Make it interesting.

 

Some short clips events: "Play hundreds of events!" then show clips, Elim, Deathmath, then get into some crazy stuff, eg monopoly/chess, tws 3d bomber man arenas.

Basically show all the possibilities of the game as of now, and then bring in the fact that its a player run community, and you can build your own zone and import your own sounds / graphics.

 

I mean really.. This game is not longer attractive to ... anyone ... I was about to say except for the past and current players, but not even that's true.

The population is slim and none, more spectators and more staff and more bots then there are players.
