I know this has been brought up before. I'm just wondering what is the current status of this effort? Was it decided to be impossible? SS on steam would be an incredible development for our community, I just don't understand why we aren't pushing this as hard as we can.

Yeah, the last update was back in November, and I haven't heard anything since. I'm wondering what the status is.

It is a long dirty road that ends with us not having the source or ability to edit the client on a as needed basis.

They're not to keen on adding a game that hasn't been updated in almost 4yrs. Though I did point out how many games on there are older, and haven't been updated in some time. Didn't get a reply to that one.

Kinda givin up on the idea of it.

One other person I did run into, had said he tried getting his game onto Steam once, and it seemed like they were pretty profit motivated in wanting control of things / priority on a producing deal if your game took off. Also a few people pointed out how hard it has been for games since Steam hooked up with people like EA.

I think maybe we need to try focusing elsewhere. One person recommend hitting on some of the gaming blogs and facebook gaming groups. Might be a legit idea. Many of the people who visit these sites are more "diehard" gamers who will give anything free a try just to give their 2 cents on it.

Does anyone here have the time/money to turn into a person on youtube that reviews games? We could literally have a team here set up to reviewing games, gain a ton of subscribers, then do a huge special on continuum. Or, if we know of any big youtube game reviewers, we could band together and beg him/her to do a special review on SS? Just a thought after reading polix's post.

So basically this is what you are suggesting:

Invest into something, such as a business.

Once business is popular, advertise SubSpace via that.

SSCV Network Administrator

They sponsor games for free and have over 12,000 subscribers. Anyone want to jump on skype with me and talk about the game a bit? As for video, I'll have some games playing in the background (from different servers) while we talk about what's going on. We'll explain some variations of gameplay and how the servers are different from eachother to suit a person's style of gameplay. Let me know if you're interested in getting a video up there.
