Unix Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 Is there a chance we can disable this? This might be something that is actually hurting the game more than anything right now. Some of the things should still be in place though. Such as if you're not flagging you will be specced. Right now, we actually are getting some population, but the problem comes that no one is flagging because they're all on their own priv freqs. Put them on the flagging freqs first - Then if they want to go on their own freq, have them do it themselves. Quote
P Nut Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) This is an excellent idea. Can we also bring back passworded privs? Edited June 19, 2011 by P Nut Quote
spidernl Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) I assume the evener works off of ?flag, so you'd still need to command to be used or at least a bit of coding to make the evener work even if players get auto-placed on 90 or 91.?Flag can then be used to re-enter a flagging freq after changing to a 'private' frequency. Anyhow, I really don't think being put on flagging freqs instantly will motivate players to flag. People might just center in them or change frequencies if 90 or 91 are too restrictive for them. I'm sure it wouldn't take you long to figure it out. I believe in you. Hell, I bet you can write an even better evener formula. Anyhow, I really don't think being put on flagging freqs instantly will motivate players to flag. People might just center in them or change frequencies if 90 or 91 are too restrictive for them.I'm going to disagree. All it takes is one person that wants to flag to collect them. After they're all in a base, all the frayers would be spec'd. They are choosing not to participate. After that, they are either going to go on a private freq or play the flag game. They have to make two conscious decisions to not play with everyone else. Whereas now the entire thing can be ignored; and quite easily if they aren't paying attention to the playerlist, flag radar, or have their music off. Edited June 19, 2011 by P Nut Quote
Arry Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 Being specced as a newbie before you learn how to change frequencies may deter newcomers from playing. Quote
P Nut Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 Being specced as a newbie before you learn how to change frequencies may deter newcomers from playing. If they get spec'd from lack of flagging they will rejoin and ask what that message means or just figure it out. I think making them type a command they don't realize exists (?flag) deters them from playing. Quote
Unix Posted June 20, 2011 Author Report Posted June 20, 2011 Right now no one is motivated to start a flag game for fear of people swooping in and getting the reward. Take out ?flag and there wont be that problem anymore. People will already be in teams. And its either you help them or you get specced for not flagging. Quote
Corey Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 I think this is a really good idea... Why not at least try it out? Quote
Cheese Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 taking out ?flag is a good ideai would think axing privs would help start fgs too Quote
Linear-Key Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Just reminding everyone that the reason ?flag was created was to keep non-flaggers off of flagging teams Quote
Unix Posted July 15, 2011 Author Report Posted July 15, 2011 We can kick ppl off even if they automagically go onto flag teams first - Or push them to non flag. Quote
