»Xog Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 (edited) Are you sure you have the correct installation file up there? When I try to use the game's shortcut from my desktop after I restart my computer I get that really old message "Failed to load dynamic link library menures.dll" http://rshl.org/foru...hp?topic=9398.0http://rshl.org/foru...p?topic=10931.0http://forums.minego...opic.php?t=6630 Edited May 21, 2011 by Xog Quote
PoLiX Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 All 3 worked fine when I created em. Just downloaded and installed it, and it ran fine. Menures.dll installed in the folder too. So not sure if your download was corrupt, or the install didn't install correctly for you. Quote

I've also re-downloaded the install files from the banner link the other day and encountered the problem opening up the game today, which is why i came on here. I dunno what the problem is. I can open up continuum just fine by going to C:\Games\Continuum\Continuum.exe Also another strange thing, when I click on Start > All Programs > Continuum > Continuum, it acts as if it's an installation package. Look at this.. sec Edited May 21, 2011 by Xog Quote
PoLiX Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Restarted and still opened fine. Very odd. You're the 1st to report the issue. So I'd assume the install was corrupt somehow. (topic split from general discussion topic) Quote
»Xog Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 http://img861.imageshack.us/img861/8291/continstall.png That's from clicking the Continuum button from the Start menu directory Quote
PoLiX Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 No issue on my pc or laptop. Even imed my brother to try it out, waiting on his response wheter is working or not. Which installer are you trying? I am using the plain Continuum 0.40 not the one with the server. Quote
»Xog Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 this one http://forums.ssgn.net/files/file/6-continuum/ and i have the menures.dll in my continuum directory Quote
PoLiX Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 installed fine for my brother. No issues after restart from either shortcut. I'd try uninstall and reinstall, and if still having issues, use the zip download. Reading another topic, it sounds like your computer was/is giving you lots of odd issues. So might just still be side effects of that. I can't seem to replicate it, sorry man. Quote
»Xog Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 does continuum make a root key thingy (probably not what its called, i forgot the real name lol) that I can delete and completely remove everything continuum-related from my computer to try it out? Quote
PoLiX Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 yes, it does a registry edit. Lemme see if I can find it in the installer creation file. Quote
»Xog Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 (edited) fyi, the uninstaller doesn't work either. it ran, said it removed continuum, but everything's still there. even the .exe runs from the directory. rofl. edit: nvm, it removed the start menu entry for continuum. but the files are still on the computer. is it possible this is a permission problem? im running windows 7 ultimate edition x64 Edited May 21, 2011 by Xog Quote
PoLiX Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Uninstall removed all my files? It sounds like the installer honestly corrupted on you. I can't seem to find where I put the installer creation file. Gonna search the registry. Edit: Where did you install Continuum? Edit 2: Registry - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Continuum Quote
»Xog Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 (edited) C:\Games\Continuum I've been told to avoid the programs directory because it causes permission issues (with another game I play) so I just put all my games in the C:\Games folder ok, hard deleted all the files from my computer and removed that registry entry. going to reboot and re-d/l. will post results Edited May 21, 2011 by Xog Quote
PoLiX Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 I installed in Program Files just for the test (installing there does give permission issues), so if was a permission issue, that'd throw it off. Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on both myself. Quote
»Xog Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 Well, I deleted everything possible continuum-related, restarted computer downloaded, installed opened it up, worked fine. closed program. restarted, opened it up and its working fine now. Certainly was a strange issue, considering I've done those steps before, save for deleting the registry entry. Thanks Now back to d/ling UT3 Quote
