We're just not redoing the rewards to suit your style of play (actually you stated that it's only one of your styles). Test your skill, if that's what you enjoy, but don't ask for money to do it. Actually low population is putting a hamper on customizing my ships for all my styles of play Since I wasn't around at the start of the reset this lull in population affects me more than someone who has already reached signature levels of experience. I think different arenas are the answer for my different styles of play. I really enjoyed gduel for testing skill. Could make it a regularly scheduled thing? As for the role playing. My arena idea which I'm going to learn ASSS to implement will cover that. So I don't think pub needs to change to suit my style of play. I was giving suggestions on increasing the population. Maybe someone could chase that down and adapt it. Desert Storm did not use any modules whatsoever, since it wasn't ASSS. It was turf gameplay, and incomparable to Conquest. Conquest is far more like a 'match' than Desert Storm ever was, due to the ever decreasing number of tickets. Desert Storm just had a couple flags you could capture for points (and could spawn at once captured, I think). In other words, 'chasing down' Desert Storm is like 'chasing down' Trench Wars, since they also have a single flag you have to capture.. Quote
Deathmonger Posted May 26, 2011 Report Posted May 26, 2011 I believe Desert Storm's gameplay changed over time, but the version I remember had about 30 control point flags scattered over the map. Yes you could set yourself to different spawn points once your team had captured surrounding flags. That added an interesting strategic dynamic. If you held more than X % of the flags for a certain period, your team won. The Conquest descriptions I have read sound like turf gameplay, if you're trying to do something else then I am mistaken. I have no idea if reusing DS is feasible or applicable. Quote
